I'm so happy @Koolo that you changed your mind on the album ! I was so surprised with your first comments on it , but i guess like every album it needs time to get into it :)

Great review by the way and that is why you are the boss around here :emoji_wink:

I appreciate you have your own opinion on this rather than following the crowd, not to say everyone else doesn't genuinely think it's trash but it's just nice to see a change. Tbh I don't feel any kind of way about this album yet, I'm gonna give it a few more listens before I sort out how I feel about it. But I definitely see where both sides are coming from.

yeah but you're still a big fan, like not of his current work but overall, aren't you? I mean I am too and I think the album have too many bad songs to call it good, not to mantion great

I will listen to the album a few times today, like I've said I only listened to it 2 times in full so maybe I'll change my mind on some songs I don't know

quite plainly, this is one of the worst things i've ever heard from a high profile artist. this was so bad that I really struggled to even make it all the way through, and it has done what none of his other albums have ever done. it has absolutely killed any remaining interest in ever hearing it again, or really just eminem beyond 2004 for that matter. at least you could say encore and relapse are interesting disasters, but this is just dull and awful. what happened to this guy has to be nearly unprecedented in music before, right? he exhibits absolutely none of the brilliance he used to. his wit and bite is exchanged for cringe 13 year old toilet humor. that dab armpit line is the most embarrassing thing he's ever said. he can't sound natural on a record anymore. go listen to f---ing i'm back or criminal or something, and then listen to him audibly f---ing strain to sound like he knows how to rap. christ, even on relapse he still sort of resembled the old skill he had. same song and dance sounds effortless compared to anything here.

what happened to eminem is just plain sad.

13-14 songs that’s only removing 3 or 4 songs and that’s not enough to make it a great album. Remove 14 of these song, and keep the other 3 then it might be a good ep

i'm hoping to god we get a two in one music video with castle + arose. no song has put me in tears like this before, it's a more powerful concept than stan tbh. it came straight from the heart and punched right through me

still, i know this album's gonna get hit with mixed reviews. i loved 3/4 of it but the other 1/4 had either s--- hooks or bad production (i was fraAAAAMMEED). offended could have easily been rap god 2.0 if not for the awful hook that just broke up the song entirely, i'm waiting for someone to remix it without the hook so i can listen to it on the regular. the intentions of having a 'little of something for everyone' were great but in the end it lacked cohesiveness, as if i was listening to a hits album or something

you guys should have known what to expect when he said he was making something for everyone. this album is still gonna sell like candy due to his brand and the features, and the broader populace are probably gonna enjoy it for what it is. they'll take their favourite songs from the album and make a playlist out of them, and if you're that conflicted about this album then that's what you should be doing too.

he's easily got at least one more album left in him. he's shown that he can flow and tell a story like TES eminem on castle + arose, the lyrical/technical side to him hasn't gone away at all (offended verses, etc). he's surrounded himself with yes men and it's hampered him severely, he needs constructive criticism, something that i hope joe budden's willing to actually give to give to em if they ever meet again after that episode of everyday struggle. it'll be hard for him to push rick rubin away from production since he idolizes him but if he pulls it off and links up with actual modern producers and people who don't live in the past then his next album is sure to be a hit (that, and featuring actual rappers as features, and maybe like 1/2 pop artists to stay on the radio).

f--- this experimental s---, he needs to take what he knows he excels in and make a classic out of it. i know he's tried to do something different with each release, but this is getting ridiculous when everybody knows and can SEE what he's capable of as an artist.

honestly watch him light a fire under his a--- and throw out an album in response to the mixed critics in a year or so. i have faith in him to put out another album that'll be widely accepted amongst the hiphop community

all around i enjoyed the album a lot. there's a lot of peaks and valleys and the choppy flow grows on you with multiple listens.

Please don’t piss on me then tell me it’s R Kelly. How in the world you go from rating it a 3 to it’s amazing? Don’t let stan in you trick you to thinking this is a good album because it isn’t. I’m a big em fan, and I was disappointed at how bad this album is.

Exactly ! I loved the album from the start . I think it's more than anything 2017 eminem could've given us . I believe the album will be received very well in even a couple days by some people . I'm glad koolo saw it.
