oh and thanks Koolo for this thread. After 8 months, I should manage to make a rankings of Revival too :

1. CASTLE (that guitar riff is awesome, it reminds me of "Marshall Mathers", this song gives me goosebumps and helps me believe Em has other greats songs left to put out...)
2. BELIEVE (that hook.... superb flow, like a bridge between past rap and modern rap ; clever song)
3. AROSE (brilliant song and the idea of the alternative ending is cool)
4. BAD HUSBAND (mature Em + pop/rock band is listenable, last verse is good)
5. TRAGIC ENDING (Em and Skylar fit well to each other, this song is OK, just OK...)
6. WALK ON WATER (I like the idea of Em confessing his doubts on a ballad, though I can't forgive the featuring with Beyoncé...verses content is moving though.. makes me nostalgic of the goold old days...)
7. UNTOUCHABLE (why this lame chorus ?!!!! 2nd part of that song is so good ! frustrating)
8. HEAT (country rap ; I vacuums on that song, great huh ?)
9. RIVER (another Love The Way You Lie, without Rihanna's voice alas... I like Em's singing though and the way the verses get darker ; this song is not a total waste)
10. REMIND ME (weak song... sounds more like a commercial than a song... nice vibes at the last verse though...)
11. LIKE HOME (Alicia Keys saves this song from being a total embarassement, but it obviously was written in 3 minutes)
12. IN YOUR HEAD (2 verses only, mere cut and paste song... filler song like Like Home / Need Me...)
13. NOWHERE FAST (OMG why Em why ; I love these few seconds when you sing though...)
14. CHLORASEPTIC (I know Em has some fun in that song, but I haven't when listening to it ; should have been on a mixtape dude !)
15. OFFENDED (could have been a good song but that goofy tune is awkward)
16. FRAMED (unlistenable, 3 AM part 2, why ??! )
17. NEED ME (skipped ! pointless)

8 months later, this album is ehh.
It's 6/10 and easily his worst.

The only song I revisit are Believe, WoW, Framed, In Your Head, Castle and Arose.
There are 2-3 more that are okay, I can tolerate them but the rest I can't. I haven't played this album in its entirety since January.

yeah definitely. Interlude is cool, they could have made so much better with this CD, instead of producing last-minutes fillers like "Need Me", "Like Home", "Framed", "In Your Head".... Revival has no concept, it's just a bunch of filler songs used in order to make cash. Maybe Em is now taking a new direction ( "a new day is dawning", and he raps on "caterpillar"...)

Nice to see that Believe is getting some love around here, it wasn't praised much on hhs

I probably listen to it the most off the album cuz Castle and Arose are not the type of songs you can just casually listen to, you have to be in a certain mood for them imo. Other than that I have no complaints, both are dope.
Believe was a risky move but it payed off IMO.

Walk On Water is great too but the rest is just...not made for the type of audience I belog to, to say the least. I don't understand who was it made for though cuz he kept spitting long a--- verses while having random pop singers sing the hooks in between them. Those who like pop don't care about his lyrics and those who like rap don't wanna hear pink sing for 2.5 minutes.
But pop hooks aside, content wise, all those other songs are just less appealing versions of his older songs. All on all, a major flop.

Infinite = cool cause its Eminem early stuff, but very sub-par compared even to Revival
However it doesnt count since it was pre-slimshady era, so have to go with Revival as worst album

I don't know how you can put Encore as his 4th best album. If you actually think that then Eminem really has made more trash albums In his career than good ones.

Recovery was only a succes cause it was relatable to every teen and Eminem was still relevant. Revival is a failed attempt of a Recovery remake. MMLP2 deluxe was way better than the album and wasn't really relatable. Relapse was literally reletable to nobody. Maybe to Jack the Ripper. Nobody wanted to hear Eminem rap about raping females with accents. Recovery is a s--- album cause I don't want Em shouting s--- punchlines in my ear. Relapse is actually enjoyable to listen even with the s--- accents. I would go as far to say Relapse is the last album Eminem made that is enjoyable to listen to.

I can't imagine how somebody with ears would be able to listen the whole 1st verse of Evil Deeds. The repeating s--- is ridiculous. He's also talking about absolute f---ing nothing in that verse. The level difference between TES and Encore is so big. I was amazed that Eminem made both albums. Eminem sabotaged Encore though so I never take that album seriously.

Walk on Water and Believe.

Decent proof there that no c---- should be looking to you for musical opinions.

(I do agree though ironically, it's his worst album despite a handful of gems)

I swear the album just feels really rushed and catered to no one in particular.

The high are great but the lows on this album man, they are depressing tbh.

I will always love EM, and he's still a great MC, but he can't seem to muster up the self awareness or musical relationships to surround himself with the right people who bring the best out of him sonically at this point in his career. Back in the day, he had plenty to say, and was a majorly angry young dude. It was so organic it was like he was writing bars in his sleep. Now he's rich, old and struggling for motivation, and seems to make literally horrendous decisions musically.

I've always placed a large part of the blame on the Jew because he always seemed to be the one keeping him hidden away from the world, maintaining this life of living in a bubble.

Em needs to be back around Dre/Storch Bass Brothers etc... someone who basically isn't afraid to dent his lil ego and tell him the truth. He's got way too many yes men around him who won't tell him straight about when he's f---ing up.


I'm not even sure how that can be argued at this point. Whatever way you look at it... whoever at the label was in charge of overseeing this project to ensure it's commercial success needs to be sacked immediately and blackballed out of interscope. How in the f--- these clowns NOT know that this s--- is a garbage failed attempt at pop music when then listened to it??

End of the day he has to take as much of the blame himself for being a reclusive anti-social c---- for such a long time in his career, so much so that it is clear as day that it has become to his creative detriment because he no longer has any sort of gauge on current popular culture. He is like coming on 46, and he literally acts that age. He thinks selfies are a new thing and I'm pretty sure he thinks people started dabbing about a week ago.

Em needs to realize that he's not that huge seller anymore.

He needs to record s--- that he likes and stop chasing trends.

Em still has talent, just look at everything he does with Royce and actual rappers.
