I just wanted to do this thread to ask people for some helpful tips.

i'm a up and coming rapper been writing for a while and my friends say i've got something (for a beginner) so i'm gonna keep working on it.
but i don't just want to rap i want to give producing & mixing a go too.

Illegally download FL Studio, and see if you can learn the basics in terms of producing and mixing (FL is primarily for producing, but it's a very capable audio engineering platform). Invest in a USB condenser microphone. Something around the $70-$100 price range should suffice. It isn't a huge investment and you'll get good quality for what is expected of a new comer.

USB mics are a---, if you're gonna take your s--- serious go all the way and get a XLR mic, I f---in hate lisening to songs with poverty recordings

Get a Condenser mic [bluebird, AT4040 etc]
Might want to invest in a reflection filter aswell [SE do good ones]
    interface [focusrite 2i2 is dope]
Cheap keyboard for producing - M audio keyrig 49, everyone has this thing
Get your music program such as FL or whatever
Not sure abou mixing vocals, I don't know s--- about that but I think youtube will have tutorials

    Good luck
