Aug 5, 2015 its kinda relevant http://www.passionweiss.com/2015/08/03/why-it-matters-that-drake-isnt-writing-his-own-songs/
Aug 5, 2015 i agree with you there m8 but js charliework was in the right with that Drake-jab tho lol, double standards and all that
Aug 5, 2015 Fair enough, though I didn't even know Mac Miller wasn't signed to a major label until he announced his third album and someone mentioned it was his major label debut. Ryan Lewis is a dope producer, I wish he'd work with someone else.
Aug 5, 2015 Yeah, but I don't like Drake for his comments and opinions on social issues. I'm a fan of Drake for his performance aspect when it comes to his music. As a fan of an artist, I don't have to agree with or like every aspect of that artist. I don't even have any Drake albums above a 9/10 in my rankings b. But he's a d--- good artist.
Aug 5, 2015 Personnally i liked some of his old stuff not heist but you don't play mack when your with you're n----s,altough he raps with hearts you never heard "d--- that verse dope mack"about him,i will never listen to him with my homies cause he's not a rapper..just a pop rapper you can say
Aug 5, 2015 its perfectly fine to appreciate drake as a performer, and he's a d--- good one at that (ovofest was so lit). but im just saying, drake's sincerity is definitely something worth questioning when it comes to his music. He's had as many tracks where i believe he's being completely genuine as where he's just trend-hopping, contradicting himself, trying to play to an image etc i think that's all charlie was trying to say
Aug 5, 2015 And Charlie isn't wrong. All I'm saying is I don't like Same Love because it's corny to me. But the second post in this thread is me saying that this song is kind of dope. Which goes back to my point that you can like some things an artist does and you can dislike others.
Aug 6, 2015 The beat at the start (guitar riff or whatever the f--- you call it) reminded me of Can I Kick It? by ATCQ.
Aug 6, 2015 Don't particularly like Macklemore or this song but I had to point out that you were wrong with this Logic gets hate all the time lol, especially on here. Might not be because of his skin, but you're still wrong
Aug 6, 2015 wow this is pretty bad...like a lot of you guys said i think Macklemore is oblivious to how corny he really is. I remember immediately after Kanye's black skinhead performance on snl he tweeted something about that inspiring him to write and become more creative, but idk there just seems to be a disconnect with this guy. he's definitely talented, but i just don't think he "gets it."
Aug 6, 2015 Really tired of hearing this because i never see the evidence. He seems genuine enough to me... Don't understand why a guy with good intentions gets under peoples skin so much. Maybe he knew he'd get a good reception for same love and that was a bonus to making the song but that doesn't mean he didn't believe in the song and didn't want to convey that message anyway. Where even is the evidence that he's doing it to "capitalize" ? Just seems like a wild assumption to me. As for the Kendrick thing... It doesn't make my stomach turn or anything... He obviously loved Kendricks album and knew everyone else did so he wanted people to know he felt he stole the award... No, he didn't have to..... but why be mad at someone with good intentions? Not even a fan of his but the hate bandwagon for macklemore is gay. I just want someone to give a decent argument as to why they believe all these accusations to be true. People act like he's a complete fraud lol.
Aug 6, 2015 I find it funny when I hear Eminem fans hate on Maclemore cause it sounds like they are threatened by him. He and Ryan have carved out an impressive niche in the industry with a distinctive sound that plays well on radio but also contains some depth and lyricism. It's a lot like Eminem's early career if you switch out the anger and bigotry for positive vibes. Macklemore makes Eminem look outdated, and that scares people.
