Killer instinct is such an overrated aspect when comparing players IMO. Sure, it's a great thing to have and most of the all time greats had it, but stats should really be the biggest part.

He played his fair share of the 5 back when the Heat only had Big Z, Dampier, and Joel Anthony down there and before Bosh was playing the 5. LeBron did great defending the 5. Guys like Howard would give him trouble but they give any undersized center trouble as well.

Hey man, at least you can admit it haha. At first he was fine with playing the 5 but if I am remembering correctly, he has said not playing SF in Miami was annoying at times. Can't blame him there.

and by killer instinct this usually means their stats in the 4th are good-great, not trying to knock lebron but i think they showed a stat he didn't score at all these past 2 4th qrts? i know thats one series, but i know there has been plenty of games in the past where lebron freezes up in the fourth, misses key ft, etc. i used to hate lebron for that.

Here's a decent article detailing the clutchness (for lack of a better word) of LeBron, Kobe, and Jordan.
    http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2015/5/11/8584749/lebron-james-michael-jordan-game-winning-shots

LeBron is actually pretty on par with Jordan in the clutch category at the time this article was written. (Shortly after his buzzer beater in Chicago)

His 4th quarters in this finals have not been great but his overall games have been.

Clutch is a lot more than one specific stat lol, Kobe's been clutch on a regular basis for a very long time, Bron was getting better at it until this series. Bron obviously has a higher FG% cuz he takes shots in the paint way more often and if the shot's not there, he's willing to pass even if the game's on the line. Often it looks like he wants to pass on that shot actually, I'm sure Shaq has a higher FG% in the 4th than all those guys, doesn't mean he's more clutch. Kobe can take over the game in the 4th or rally his team from down 15, Bron rarely does these things.

I don't think killer instinct is overrated at all, Kobe never takes a game off and always wants to k--- the other team. Gotta love having a player like that for your team. His work ethic is also second to none, Phil Jackson even said it's better than MJ's.

Yeah I already regret posting, hope I'm not baited into doing it again.

*edit* It's just people saying Bron's more clutch than Kobe or Jordan just blows my mind...I don't even know if Lebron's more clutch than the average NBA star player. Damian Lillard for example the first half of this year was more consistently clutch than I've seen Bron be. Blazers had about 17 comebacks this year from behind 10+ points and Lillard did a lot of that. 2nd half of the year, Lillard fell off though.

Kobe. There's a ton of hate for both, but at this point Kobe's career > LeBron's career (obviously LeBron can still surpass)
A couple of myths I hate though -
    1) Shaq didn't carry Kobe. It's beyond absurd. Did Wade carry LeBron? Did Kareem carry Magic? If you look at the playoffs, they were two superstars playing together and dominating. The only one you can say was even close was the first ring, where Kobe was young, but he still put up 21 ppg in the playoffs. Shaq got the Finals MVP's deservingly, he was the most dominant force, LeBron wouldn't get Finals MVP over that Shaq. Shaq would've destroyed these Warriors in my opinion. The other two rings they were basically even but Shaq had the obvious advantages going against big men who couldn't stop him.
    2) Kobe never carried a team? Kobe carried some of the biggest losers and busts of all time in Smush Parker and Kwame Brown and almost defeated the top seeded Suns if it wasn't for how bad the role players were. This Cavs roster (w/o LeBron) over that Lakers roster (w/o Kobe) by a mile. Plus, Kobe's last healthy season he put up something like 27 - 6 - 6 I think, and carried a dysfunctional team to the playoffs when they had no business being there. Unfortunately he got injured but his clutch shots and ability were on full display.
    3) LeBron is amazing. He averages something like 27 - 7 - 7 for his career, but if you take away the first couple of years for Kobe when he was a backup (remember LeBron at least got a chance to start immediately), then Kobe's career is something very similar at 27-5-5. They are both amazing talents and I think it's unfair to compare them, I wish the 2009 finals would have been Kobe vs LeBron, Kobe averages 30-5-5 and that would have been amazing to see that against LeBron. But I think it's got to be Kobe by a hair for now unless LeBron either wins this finals, or wins 2 more rings (if Kyrie & Love return and are healthy).

You actually make a great point, but I'm not gonna waste my time looking up their respective clutch play locations on the court. The thing that I like about LeBron passing in late game situations is that a lot of times, it's the right play. Just like when Jordan got stopped at half court against the Jazz in the finals and was forced to pass it ahead when the ball eventually made its way to John Paxson for the game winning 3. It does seem lately tho that LeBron has been making some bonehead plays late in games over that past few years. Especially this series.

    TMI Kobe! TMI.

One thing that Lebron has that Kobe doesn't is the fact that his mom got the D from Delonte West, which I find hilarious. What an ugly MFer.

Lebron is probably the better player but as a fan I'd feel more comfortable having Kobe on my team in the playoffs.
