That's like how when a Black person says Black Power they are celebrating there heritage, but when a White Person says White Power, they are racist. It's double standards.

This is soooo wrong dude. It's basic history knowledge, who used phrases like this, and for what 'causes'. Neo-nazis, KKK, nationalists... They aren't just racists, they're dangerous; it's not just the superiority of the white people (which is disgusting to even think of), it's the hate against anything different. It's about the so called aryan race being better than blacks, gypsys, anything different...

Black Power on the other hand had an entire different meaning. You can't consider these 2 equal, unless you don't know what you're talking about.

Do they usually have different connotations, yes. My point is, it's frowned upon for white people to celebrate being white, but encouraged for black people to celebrate being black.

I'm not entirely sure about what I'll type now, but I think that, despite racism in general being a thing (xenophobia, social racism like slavery etc), the WP thing started when Hitler gained power in Germany. Germans were broke, everyone had huge economical problems, so someone had to take the blame. The immigrants/foreign people were the easy target, at first inside and later outside the country, of course.

The rest is history, but there are many people who accepted these 'ideals' of superiority, and even today think that being white makes them genetically better, fueling their hate for anything else. Take a look in Russia: a few months ago there were neo-nazis attacking and torturing h----------s. Take a look in the USA, there are black people attacked for no reason, take a look everywhere. People have nothing but anger, so they feed on pathetic ideas like this one, which are unacceptable considering how many things we know (regarding history, biology etc) that proves that their 'ideas' are dead, and dangerous.

Black Power was the movement against this s---.

Now, of course a black person can be racist towards whites, like a straight person can be racist towards a gay person, like, like, like. But these 2 terms, WP and BP are associated with historical events and you can't ignore this.

Noooo you're missing the point completely! It's stupid to celebrate being white or black, it's just a random event. If my mother was black I'd be half black, it's totally random, it's not an achievement or anything. Black people didn't celebrate being black, they were striving for equality

I'm really playing devil's advocate here. Black people didn't enslave the white race, murder millions of jews, and discriminate against millions of people for the sake of supremacy. White Power celebrates that, Black Power celebrates the people rising up from the struggles and achieving equality, I get that. I'm as open-minded and liberal as one could possibly get.
The pigment of someone's skin really doesn't matter. What matters is how you treat people, and how you act in life.

Well yeah, it's not people from a different race but I think we can generalise here; in previous years racists were against foreign people/immigrants, but nowadays people act with the same behaviour against different groups of people, despite being from the same 'race'. It's social racism, not limited in biological differences but expanding to different aspects. Sexual orientation being one of them.
