Feb 16, 2021 The fact that no one who was complaining about "both sides" and "PC culture" responded to this is unsurprising but it's really the only proof I need that this was never about "freedom of speech" or "both sides of the debate," it was about people being mad that they got called out. I'm still willing to have a reasonable discussion with anyone else interested in the same thing.
Feb 16, 2021 i still dont think there is anything wrong with finding someone who has had a sex change a bit weird. I wouldnt use the term if they found it disrespectful though. I think the majority of people would find them weird. They certaintly do have my respect for the bravery involved to do it.
Feb 16, 2021 Trying to visualize myself wanting to not have a penis is indeed weird, but people saying things like isn't that
Feb 16, 2021 If you're looking up to a rapper or anyone in the entertainment business. You're the one with with the mental illness. Also if you get mad at a tweet, especially one thats a joke. You need to see a psychiatrist.
Feb 16, 2021 eminem section must be full of mentally ill people then. Your theory makes alot of sense
Feb 16, 2021 cc: @Ricky Also RT @ what @Tyler said A lot of things regarding human beings and the way we feel, process information, etc are definitely "weird" in general. A lot of strange s--- goes on within human beings lol. But the idea is to shift away from language that otherizes (and in some instances, ostracizes) people based upon creed/color/sexuality/etc. Being transgender isn't some bs like otherkin (I love this tumblr because people took it seriously lol), it's something that's widely medically accepted including by WHO as I mentioned before. It's just about treating people like human beings, regardless of the fact that they happen to be different from the majority of the population due to something out of their control, just like people in the USA who are gay or black or suffer from mental illnesses or are left-handed or have red hair etc. (and yes obviously it's a lot bigger difference than hair color or dominant hand). What it really comes down to is: why do people need to comment that it's weird or gross every time this comes up? It doesn't really make me believe that people are accepting or even want to know more to understand the issues if they feel the need to add an asterisk every time trans people come up. I appreciate this comment because it lets me know that you do have some respect for trans people, but I also just wanted to be clear that I'm not looking for a bunch of comments fawning over how all trans people are heroes or whatever (cuz they're not lol...trans people are just as capable of being pieces of s--- OR being heroes as anyone else)—unless it's how you actually feel in a given situation. Just to be respectful and cultivate an environment where people can learn about this stuff if they so choose. I'm never gonna fault someone for saying "I don't really understand the concept of being transgender" or whatever.
Feb 16, 2021 I was wrong to just come in here and scream "mental illness" cause Im not a doctor or a mental health expert... Suicide in trans people is a big problem and that is obviously a sign of mental health issues. Tying the two together is really where it can be complicated. It could very well be simple as they don't wanna live because they aren't accepted. Regardless we must not ignore mental health issues in the trans community as its a big problem. .. In the end everyone deserves to be happy and thats what I want for anyone. Many do live with regret though and its important to hear them out too. I will do my part and keep an open mind and try to understand the other side of the argument. I am a psychiatrist you idiot.
Feb 16, 2021 Yeah, suicide rates are disproportionally high with trans people, and transitioning decreases that rate by a lot. Thanks for taking responsibility and keeping an open mind because that's really all I ask of people—haven't gotten a chance to read your PM yet btw but I will get to that in the next couple days.
