Mar 6, 2016 2 Chainz does not have a grip on hip hop anymore, when's the last time he dropped something & everybody was on board?
Mar 7, 2016 got a better listen of this earlier today.. it's definitely a solid project. I think 2 Chainz stepped his game up, especially on 'Bounce' we heard some bits of "Old Wayne" shining through on some tracks..I hope Carter 5 is like this, or better 7/10 fav tracks.. Bounce, MFN Right, Blue C-Note, What Happened
Mar 7, 2016 BOATS, hit top 1, and the sequel hit top 1 rap That's only three years ago though, which isn't falling off at all. Keeping everyones attention at all times is a ridiculous expectation. Plus when we're talking about reaching the pop crowd, it has wayy more to do with features and singles rather than the album quality itself. It's obvious that deuce would catch more attention earlier this decade with his insane run of collaborations, even though you could easily argue that Freebase keeps a higher quality standard than the commercial studio albums.
Mar 23, 2016 So now that the dust has settled somewhat, what are your guys thoughts on the project as a whole I thought it was solid but i probaly won't be playing most of the songs again.
Mar 29, 2016 I have been listening to the project a lot today - since I am going to their concert tomorrow night in Atlanta. There are definitely some major misses on this project (most of the middle is forgettable) but I really like the beginning and the end. The standout tracks for me are Smell Like Money, Bounce, What Happened, and Section (which I think is the best song). MFN Right is one of my favorite 2 Chainz tracks in awhile but is out of place here. Mike WiLL killed that beat.
