    • The song was listed as "The Most-Streamed Song of 2013" by Spotify.
    • Macklemore and Ryan Lewis became the fifth act to place their first 2 debut singles atop the Billboard Hot 100, following Mariah Carey with "Vision of Love" and "Love Takes Time", Christina Aguilera with "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants", Lady Gaga with "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" and Bruno Mars with "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade".
    • The shooting for the music video took place for 3 months, on 2 continents, and took 16 different shoots. Its locations included the Pacific Northwest, Southern California, New Zealand, and on the tall ship Lady Washington.
    • During the 2013 NBA Playoffs, the Oklahoma City Thunder used the song "Can't Hold Us" to pump up the crowd during their home games. Macklemore requested that the Thunder, who moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City in 2008, not play the song. The Thunder obliged.
    • Following the success of this single, Ray Dalton gave up his career as a tennis teacher to pursue a full-time career as a musician.

    @Loyalty I did read somewhere years ago that it didn't end up on BP3 because of the autotune used on the song (would be kind of dumb with DOA on it). Not sure if that is true though.
