I just signed up for my first powerlifting meet in years that is taking place at Texas A&M in Febuary. I already have the squat to break the state record for texas which is currently 502 raw but my goal is to hit at least 540.

If I feel like I'm gonna puke after lifting does that mean I did a good job? Been doing one hour a day five days a week.

5 days a week seems a bit excessive. In order for your muscles to grow they need rest. 3 days a week is recommended with a gap between each day.

Depends on your specific goals. But imo 5 days for lifting is excessive. Just my view. Cardio can supplement lifting.

An individual can very easily lift 5-6x a week and br fine. A lot of it has to do with the volume/intensity of the workouts. If anything performance will suffer because of fatigue but you'll still grow.

While you're here, what's the best way to fix lumbar lordosis. It's causing me occasional lower back pain. I've looked online and seen contradictory advice.

I was running 6 days a week and about 5 miles a day for the last couple of years.

Tore my meniscus during a half marathon in March and have synovial fluid build up in my knee aka bursitis.
