Hearing Floyd's name being bandied around with top 5 of all time; completely disagree, struggles to make top 8 IMO

LOL, so he's in your top 10, but you can't believe others have him in their top 5?

The fight was the first time I've seen this much hugging since the MLB trade deadline last year.

Wait, at welterweight or any weight class? Very different argument imo.

Pacquiao is one dimensional, couldn't adjust mid-fight. He kept trying to do that 1-2 lunge all night and Floyd kept hitting him with the check right cross and jab.

Nah, but it's a much less ridiculous statement.

I do understand the disappointment because people who don't follow combat sports often don't understand that a lot of hype behind a fight doesn't mean the fight will be particularly entertaining. I pretty much knew what to expect so I wasn't all that disappointed.

Still pretty bat s--- crazy imo. Armstrong, joe walcott, leonard, hearns, duran, robinson, griffith, ross, britton, whitaker, walker, they all clearly rank above mayweather at welterweight.

I'm less likely to include dudes who fought pre-50s tbh.
I wouldn't put Wilt Chamberlain in the greatest centers of all time either.
But yeah, it's not ridiculous to exclude him either.

Hes not top 5 based on acomplishments and his resume at welterweight. His welterweight resume is ridiculously thin for a fighter of his magnitude. We are talking about faded versions of pacquiao, de la hoya and mosley, the judahs, guerreros and maidanas of the world, or the hattons and the baldomirs...his resume is just not up to par with the guys i listed.

I'll concede. I'm not one to defend his place in the top 5.
Would you rank him above Pacquiao?

Id much rather rank pacquiao and mayweather in a p4p discussion instead of at welterweight, thats where their greatness stands imo.

While pac has probably faced the slightly better fighters i have to rank floyd higher based off of dominance and his undefeated status.

Floyd dominated Marquez, a guy that gave pacquaio h--- 4 times and arguably beat pacquiao 3 times. Floyd also beat castillo, corrales, hernandez and has that nice win against canelo (a guy that continues to improve after his loss to mayweather)

Pacquiao has morales, barrera, Ledwaba, larios, battery, marquez, clottey, and others. he demolished cotto and hatton in a much more destructive fashion than Floyd did.

I give floyd the edge as the p4p better fighter, but im not convinced hes the best fighter of this generation. That could be my man bernard hopkins.
