Jun 3, 2015 If you want to hear what a proper Em flow sounds like post OD bump relapse. Those flows are GOAT
Jun 3, 2015 I try to stay on fire so you know if I hate f---in water sprinklers I don't love the hoes.
Jun 3, 2015 Even if you hate Relapse, the one thing you have to take away from it is the flows. Those flows were on f---ing point. People talking about he dont know how to flow anymore. Relapse and parts of Phenomenal crushed that statement.
Jun 3, 2015 "parts" the other "parts" where the flow was bad is what people are saying is wrong with the current Em
Jun 3, 2015 Yes, but there were parts where his flow was good.. or at least a f--- of a lot smoother than his recent ish. Thats what I mean. Like the whole second verse and most of the third verse - especially from the uphill climb line, to the statement line. And the "I write with the left" line
Jun 3, 2015 this is definietly true but fk man, I really think the only thing stopping Em from going back to his post hiatus peak is to fix his flow to a stable one like you mentioned above and get rid of the s-----y toilet humour and cringe lines
Jun 3, 2015 Yes. And work with better producers.. ones where you actually have a shitton of chemistry with. Breaks my heart sometimes.
Jun 3, 2015 Literally none of the songs you mentioned I would consider great songs. I don't know how you can say BME is just a tier below SSLP, MMLP, & TES. Like... Actually think about that for a second. You're essentially saying songs like Lighters & Fast Lanes are almost as good as songs like k--- You & Role Model. Think hard about that for a second. Then again I don't know why I'm surprised by your opinions anymore.... Didn't you argue Recovery might be better than SSLP at one point? I remember you saying something like that.
Jun 3, 2015 Ya, however, I dont find the production that bad in this or his recent music I just feel if this was really produced By Em *cough Louis Resto cough* (like much of ShadyXV was) i think he really needs to relearn how to mix songs properly or just give it to Dre or anyone that can actually mix songs correctly.
Jun 3, 2015 Dre should be mixing his s--- or at least mixing it with him, because his mixes are clean as f--- and yeah. Em and Resto and need to make a big return. I loved his production on MMLP2, Vegas from shady xv, and Heartbreak from Love Story.
Jun 3, 2015 I think part of it is that I've outgrown rap. I also think the genre(commercial rap) has really gone to s---. For the most part I will try and listen to new music from artists that I grew up listening to but even then there are rappers like The Game, T.I. and Lil Wayne(all who I Stanned at one point) that I don't even bother listening to their new music. The only albums from relatively new artists I've checked out lately were Big Sean's and Kendricks. I thought some of Big Sean's was pretty good and I thought TPAB was a corny snooze fest. I don't know.... it's sad but if it's not Kanye,Jay-Z, 50 Cent or Eminem I don't really give a s--- anymore. As far as being interested in Eminem I don't know how you couldn't be if you were a fan of his during his prime. When I was in middle school/high school that guy was on his way to being the undisputed GOAT and well now we all know what he is lol. I don't think anybody in any profession has fallen off like he has so whether his music is awful or surprisingly decent it's still fun to discuss for me. It's like a train wreck it's pretty horrific but you can't turn away from it. I mean, I can't at least.
Jun 3, 2015 yeah you just seem to have so much more common sense than the other dudes who repeatedly come back to Em, yet you always do lol so i was curious anyways, LISTEN TO THESE FOOL
Jun 3, 2015 I'll add that the fact I will listen to these now but I lied. I don't know how I found it or who the h--- this guy is but I have had this on repeat since late April so maybe I haven't out grown rap completely lol.
Jun 3, 2015 Alright I guess I'll give my thoughts real quick. The Hook: Actually pretty decent, it'll attract the attention needed as a soundtrack song. His singing isn't quite that bad here. However it does feel like a pretty lazy hook. 7/10 Verse 1: Probably takes the #2 spot in this song. Flows pretty good, not that choppy at all for modern Em. He leads into the chorus at the end.. super predictable for Em, it's like he doesn't know how to finish verses anymore. Actual lyrics are average. 7.5/10 Verse 2: This would've been the second best verse in the song until the Martha Stewart line. The opening lines are great but then right after that line it gets a little meh.. Mixing during this verse terrible, can barely hear him 2/3's of the way through it. 6/10 Bridge: Terrible. 3/10 f--- YOU LIZ Verse 3: He actually has a great flow going and it sounds great at the beginning! The lyrics are slightly (VERY SLIGHTLY) above those of verse 1. Bonus points for "I write with the left, same hand i hold the mic with as i fight to the death). He has a energy at the beginning of this verse that I would say was absent from the first 2 verses, Best Friend, Speedom, and all of ShadyXV. You can he it in his voice, but then he slowly transcends back into his more monotone voice. 7.7/10 Mixing: Ugh.. Khalil ruined what could've been a good Eminem song. He's barely audible in multiple points throughout the song. Beat overpowers him in a few spots, the "PHEN-OM-ENAL" loop in the background is incredibly distracting. I think if Dre did a beat like this, boost the bass, cleared up the vocals. I think it could've been a top 5 song since his comeback. But Khalil f----- up. 5/10 PHEEEN OM ENAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOTAL SCORE: 5.8/10
Jun 3, 2015 It's really not too much to ask. I'm just asking for Eminem to slow down, stop trying to impress everyone, and just make enjoyable songs. Give me some normal and consistent flows, without yelling, without accents, without changing your voice, without stopping and going, just flow with the beat. Not every song has to sound like a freestyle/cypher. We get it, you can spit fast. Now it's time to make good music.
Jun 3, 2015 What I mean is his delivery is all over the place. Trying to fit too many words in one line, doesn't follow the same tempo. It messes up the whole vibe. He doesn't ride the beat the same way the others do. You can hear it as soon as his verse starts. He had a great delivery on No Love, Forever or Drop The World. Where he kept the same pace throughout the song or he gradually went faster to reach a climax. Just look at No Love where he starts slow and gradually goes faster. It all fits with the beat and he doesn't stop or go off beat. I don't know, to me it's so obvious and i can hear the difference immediately. I don't know how some of you can't hear it.
