Oct 11, 2017 Ya know what, f--- it..I just did a complete 180 on the song and I did it without even listening to it. Honestly it'd still sound bad to me with no beat and how he rapped. BUT... the lyrics and message are great, and reading it over again just now when I'm high and smoked a few bowls made me like and appreciate it more. Plus doing without a beat is a smart idea here cuz he wanted people to specifically pay attention to the words. No I'm not saying that's why he did it that way, but regardless it's fitting. Sooo....I do something I basically never do and give Em his props. Job well done here, he did it right.
Oct 11, 2017 Let's be real, if he just started with the Obama line it would've been much better. The start with the coffee pot on the re-used "I can't joke" is awkward as f--- and unfunny. Once he starts going in on trump it's on message
Oct 11, 2017 He smashed it. I'm comfortable with him rapping like that going into the new album cycle. There's nothing really to complain about imo. We'll hear him on a beat Friday.
Oct 11, 2017 Agreed... to a point anyway. 2010 pop hits aside, this is Eminem's biggest moment since his hey day right? The "cypher" itself has some issues, especially the beginning. (and he's certainly losts several steps, technically... shout out @WPG) But it's got the perspective, and worthy opponent in Trump, that Eminem has lacked for AWHILE. good sign. good use of his patented outrage. like the stubble beard, i'm intrigued, a little weirded out... but slightly hopeful in the direction.
Oct 11, 2017 There's some moments in it that I heard the old good Marshall, looking forward for his album.
Oct 11, 2017 *turns to my wife while Eminem angrily raps about dropping a coffee pot on the president and then decides against it* this is the best rapper of all time
Oct 11, 2017 Stans are r-----ed on this forum and they can't make an opinion for themselves. GOAT posters like Koolo or M Solo came and did bring the truth on this s-----y sxn tho
Oct 11, 2017 I hope the whole album isnt like this although he tends to run things into the ground a lot. I hope he explores many different topics, I hear about Trump 50x a day, I’d hope I dont hear about Trump 50x this album
Oct 11, 2017 First time that I didn't mind the awkward stop and go s---. Idk how good his album will be, but if he flowed these lines on a beat the right way, this would be a top notch song. Surprisingly impressed right now. Seems focused.
Oct 11, 2017 I swear I almost turned it off immediately. That opening line “what a awfully hawt cawfee pawt” Thought I was in for the same old 2009-on shtick. He turned it around real quick tho. Still holds up after another listen
Oct 11, 2017 I mean it’s one of the weaker lines, but still it had some meaning which makes it not as bad on first listen He’s telling Trump to realise the reality of what he’s doing and “wake up and smell the coffee” as the saying goes, or he’s gonna do it for him
Oct 11, 2017 You’re reaching HARD. It’s not that thought provoking of a line. Is that even a thing people say?
Oct 11, 2017 Nah I’m not saying it’s a deep thought-provoking line lol I’m just saying it’s not just a filler And yes ‘wake up and smell the coffee’ is a common saying
Oct 11, 2017 Watched again this morning for a 3rd time. No hyperbole. This is great. From the part where he brings up Bannon to the end is absolutely perfect. Honestly though if you're calling this trash you're either a hater or a Trump supporter. There's no way you can't appreciate this.
