During the time he spent working on the NWA movie though, he felt inspired to make new music which is what this album is. Though, Dre has a vault of thousands of songs in various stages of completion - Wouldn't surprise me if there's material on there that at some point was intended for Detox.

Aug 6, 2015 it's 7:30pm Thursday where I'm at. Should I bother staying up all night for this? or sleep and wake up to it? hype's been steady building, now i'm like "f--- what do i do?" It would be perfect to wake up and listen to it, but i want to be there for the ride, the experience. I want to board the hype train, ride it for an hour, get off at compton the soundtrack station and bump the f--- out of that s--- all day n-----.

Aug 6, 2015 It's amazing how many people are going to crack open a bottle of OE roll a blunt and have a good cry over this album Will still be a good day for S80 it'll bring heavy discussion to this place which is heavily needed so I'll probably end up listening to this somewhere down the road so I can talk about how average it probably will be Nothing on this album will top b--- b--- and Talking To My Diary will be in the shadows of Message won't even be close
