    Did I say nobody was allowed to grieve his passing? I wasn't even talking about people on this forum who I assume had a better grasp of his struggle.

    You yourself contributed to an article detailing 50 murdered rappers or whatever. We shouldn't be caught off guard by the very apparent ills inherent to hip-hop.

    there's a huge difference between recognizing that rappers tend to come from dangerous environments/famous people have drug problems/etc in the broad sense and affecting this wise, all-knowing haughty bs attitude when someone actually dies.

    was it out of the realm of possibility that someone would try to k--- young dolph? no. was it still a shock to the system when it actually happened and the news notifications popped up? of course.

    Okay, but bar the tone, I'm trying to get across the point that shock is a symptom of our collective memory wiping every time this s--- happens. Nobody should be surprised. We should be vigilant.

    This isn't different at all from what happens after mass shootings. "Oh wow, can't believe it" ad infinitum.
