Feb 26, 2016 Didn't listen to the new album yet but honestly, I really, really like this song from him. The chorus >> The Heist was decent imo, Can't Hold Us is a b-----r
Feb 26, 2016 The production is really great. So if you ignore some of his corny lyrics his music is listenable
Feb 26, 2016 I liked The Heist, but this album is pretty bad imo. There are a few decent songs, but it just sounds like they're trying too hard. The Heist's upbeat/fun songs sounded natural, but on this album Mack sounds like he's trying to prove he isn't just the "Same Love" guy and can make fun records. Also, I can't stand the flow he uses on just about every song. I wonder if he doesn't understand that sometimes it's ok to just ride a beat. Chance's verse was the best part of the album for me.
Feb 26, 2016 Album is such a classy piece Can't believe people trashing this decent production but will praise whatever s--- young thug drops.
Feb 26, 2016 Most disappointing album in a long time. He really f----- up with this. Ryan Lewis really f----- up too, I thought he was a god level producer after The Heist and VS EP but he definitely proved me wrong. Mack shined on this album, his bars were pretty decent but the songs overall seemed like sketches rather than proper tracks (i.e. St. Ides, Let's Eat). There were some good cuts though, such as Light Tunnels, Buckshot, Kevin. Need to Know & Bolo Tie. These seemed like tracks he actually worked on for an extensive amount of time. Overall, this didn't live up to any expectations and I don't see Mack going anywhere after this.
Feb 26, 2016 i only liked a couple songs off the heist when i first got it and ended up loving pretty much every track on it after awhile, so I'm not worried that I can't really get into this past a few tracks right now, i'm sure i'll warm up to it soon
Feb 26, 2016 Aight for someone that has never listened to Macklemore, would you recommend I listen to this album first or his older s---?
Feb 27, 2016 Gave this three more full listens and I have to say it grew on me. I deleted Dance Off and Let's Eat and the album flows better now and I don't get as pissed off by those s-----y songs. There are a lot of good tracks but there are mediocre moments sprinkled throughout it, kinda like The Heist but that album had incredible production. This is a good album, not great. Definitely a grower. Without the really awful tracks, the album feels fuller and less of a drag. For now, I'd give it a 7/10
Feb 29, 2016 I'm actually starting to like this album pretty decently tbh. Don't get all the hate for it
Feb 29, 2016 This dude is really corny. But I respect him a lot more after his Hot 97 interview. I liked White Walls and Neon Cathedral however. Still corny. But I think he knows that so do you Mack.
