@Koolo Gamesalad is largely a gimmick. If you want to do it right I would pick either iOS or Android and learn the native language for those apps. It's fairly easy nowadays to convert to the other and release your game on both platforms. I'm not that familiar with android, but Apple's new Swift language they released a few years ago is pretty easy to pick up and there are lots of good books.

Yeah learn java. Theres tons of resources online. Its hard but it can be very rewarding.

You can also buy the skin of basic games and develop them frim that.

Yeah Java is very universal. And once you learn one language, they are all pretty similar. The concepts are the same, just some of the syntax changes.

Also my advice is to not go in with the mind state that you are creating a specific game. If you really have no programming experience, there are tons of concepts to learn that you will say you won't need for a "game" per-se but later on you'll find out you do.

teamtreehouse.com has a few iOS and Android training courses. You get a free 2 week trial and after that it's $25 a month. I can get you the first month half off.

    Here's what they have:
    -iOS Development with Objective C
    -iOS Development with Swift
    -Android Development with Java

I haven't done these courses but the other ones I have done are very helpful. Lots of video watching and hands on coding.

Yep, like I said, stay away from things like Gamesalad as they are just template based systems. Learn Java or Objective C/Swift. Play around with simple things first to get an understanding of how things work.

Languages are pretty similar but Objective C and Swift are cleaner and more descriptive. If you need help during your experiments you have me on Skype.
