Superhero movies are about to die out, quote me in a couple years

Literally every single death is meaningless, because EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM comes back to life. That one guy who died in avengers got his own tv show for Christ's sake. And then DC can't seem to make an interesting movie without Batman to save their life, so this upcoming movie is essentially Justice League With Interspersed Emphasis On Batman.

And then there's zero character development. Tony learns there's more to life than being iron man and destroys all his suits. Next movie? All the suits are back because reasons. When you stretch a character's natural progression across 20 years of films, with like 5 films a year, you get around 20 movies with immature man child millionair playboy tony before you see any real progression.

I think the discussion is largely influenced by the mainstream success that Marvel has garnered with their movies, mainly due to their solid humor and action. However, before they managed to break the mold, DC was very much at an advantage, with Batman and Superman as two of the top three most recognizable superheroes and Spider-Man the other. DC has always led as far as animation is concerned with critically acclaimed shows and animated movies. So for now it should be more or less a tie overall even though a lot of people dislike DC for the childish view of them not being Marvel. Both of them should be rooted for in order to get the best stories on all platforms (games, movies, tv shows, comics, etc.)

And I think the superhero genre isn't in a decline at the moment. Age of Ultron was a disappointment as far as content relative to hype, but the success was there and now Ant-Man is looking to be a financial success along with positive reviews. Marvel should be fine for a while longer. As far as DC, their success will largely depend on getting their next three movies correct. They can't afford to fall flat on any of them. Batman v. Superman because it is their biggest asset and their largest characters. It needs to be a success on all grounds. Suicide Squad needs to succeed and keep the momentum going if they want to continue expanding, and Wonder Woman will be the first female lead superhero movie and she's a point of great contention so that has to be successful. If they can get those three right, not only will DC thrive, but it will boost Marvel and the genre up as well (as long as Marvel continues to do well).
