I disagree with the idea of an ar-15 ban or hunting rifle ban, because these bans would not incrementally change gun violence. its likely that those bans wouldnt have stopped the orlando shooter. I agree with increased screening, backgrounds checks, a much better watch list etc. No matter what we do, hand guns are going to be the leading firearm in homicides and gun violence in general. I also think that if you try to disarm Americans of their guns, you are going to have a big problem, rightfully so. For the people that are non violent, the people that follow the law, it's absolutely obstructing their rights if you take their guns for no reason. Also, it doesnt matter if you think it's unnecessary, or if you disagree with it. It's a right that every American has. The 2nd amendment isnt going away because some liberals want it to.

You said that i dont care about americans getting killed, thats a complete lie. If you take away guns then people will just go with sharp or blunt weapons/object which is what people did after the Australian gun ban. A handgun ban will never happen in america btw so this is dumb

Do you not see the difference in destructive power between a gun and a blunt object?

In the ideal world, we'd eventually get to the point where most police officers would also not be armed as in the UK. Also, arguably the police would be less on edge if a gun ban was put in place thus decreasing police brutality.

Nobody in the U.S is going to hand in their guns. If you disarm citizens it leads to only the police and criminals being armed, and mass shootouts with police on collection day.

but you can't hold people hostage with a car. I've never seen someone have a standoff with police holding the steering wheel of a Prius. Have you seen all of those school vehicular homicides in other countries with strict gun control? Seems like it's every other week someone drives their accord into a hallway... Could I roll up on a busy side walk right now if I wanted to? Sure, and I'd take out a few people before I crashed and was ripped out of my car by someone. I would be neutralized pretty quick though. I'm not saying ban guns, but they're way too easy to get and it shouldn't be that way.
