Wow, and in my country as well...

It's a shame because gun control isn't as universal and consistent. Sure we have customs but how much easier is it to buy a gun in germany than it is in the US. If you get checked into a mental institution, you can't even own a gun for 5 years yet when those 5 years are up you can own one? What?

We need better background checks as that's the only way we'll be able to determine who should have a gun and who shouldn't have one. I admit, it's discriminatory but it's the only way.

right, at the very least this needs to be done. Just to respond to all the statistics you're posting (not sure how honest they all are)... the US still has the most gun deaths in a civilised country... Regardless of whether the deaths have gone down since a decade ago or whatever.

Also, I don't really get your mental health argument. Giving a person who's mentally ill a trigger to press to slaughter people is cause for disaster. Regardless of who the person is... it makes it much easier. Imo the mental health argument completely backfires. The fact that those kinds of people exist are the exact reason it shouldn't be so easy to k--- people. The whole "but they'd do it anyway" is bs. Mental illness isn't always as simple as being possessed and entirely unhinged. And while in some cases I'm sure it's true, they wouldn't be slaughtering dozens of people.

I support gun control but I believe the owners of these public spaces should at least have the right to provide some of their employers with handguns (legal process and all ofc)
