I quite literally couldn't care less about the second amendment, I'm eager for the day thirty years from now where we ratify something that wasn't designed by slave owners to regulate muskets.

thats fine. Plenty of people disagree with you and think that the 2nd amendment is actually important. Also it was designed so that you and I could have freedom.. Freedom of speech etc. which was established because the second amendment existed. if you are dumb enough to think that about muskets, then you must think that the founding fathers were stupid enough to not anticipate any advancements in gun technology.

The freedom of speech is tied to the second amendment though. The ability to even criticize the second amendment, is made possible by the second amendment. So saying it was just designed to regulate muskets is dumb

also, the second amendment was used to include all weapons, technologically advanced weaponry, not just muskets.

As far as your freedom of speech goes, it can be argued that the 2nd amendment made the other 9 amendments possible, when all of this was being established. I know it was a different time, and you have a point that in some ways the 2nd amendment will be regulated, but it will never be removed and it is certainly important.
