    We don't call them mate, we don't call anyone mate. 99x/100 if someone over here says mate they're talking about animals.

    Unless of course they ask to be called his mate, in which case they probably have 3 kids by 4 baby daddies.

    It simply says, it could also mean your "life partner, lover", go on then, call koolo or who ever you wish as your "mate". But I think it's strange.
