    Again, Conor did perfectly fine. Anybody who says otherwise had some crazy expectations. Floyd gave away the first couple of rounds on purpose, sure, his corner said as much. Conor landed some clean punches in the process. He altered his style to make the fight sloppy which benefited him. He had Floyd fighting out of his type which is usually just hanging back and making people look stupid and cruising. Did it help that he's a decade younger, 15 pounds bigger, and the longest guy he's ever fought? Sure, but we're talking about a guy with zero pro boxing fights.

    You don't have to defend boxing's honor by speculating on Floyd's intentions. Like, imagine watching Floyd's past 5 years and say he ever did anything to make a fight entertaining for the casuals. If the easiest, safest route to victory was a 1st round KO, Floyd would have taken it. That's what even prominent boxing figures like Max Kellerman were saying was going to happen. They're the ones who look dumb. Not anybody saying Conor did okay.

    tl;dr Conor didn't go full CM Punk

    This wasn't a real boxing fight though. If Floyd KO's him in the 1st or 2nd round he makes a mockery of the sport (he already did by fighting a guy with no professional boxing wins). He knew he was better and faster. If he was worried that McGregor was going to knock him out he would have started actually fighting earlier. He didn't start throwing real punches until the 4th. Everyone was saying how gassed McGregor looked in the 3rd. It could've been a way earlier fight, he stretched it out.

    You sound crazy, m8. Floyd coming out aggressive trying to take Conor's head off is a dangerous gambit that plays right into Conor's supposed strengths. He said as much in his own words after the fight lol. He's not Mike Tyson.

    floyd just let him gas himself in the first few rounds

    floyd couldn't have ended it early, because connor is a big dude and would be hard as s--- to first round KO, even for Floyd

    connor didn't do terribly, but should've been more self aware and known what was going on

    his "first" pro boxing match and he lasts 9 whole rounds with an undefeated "best boxer in the world". thats a fucjen acheivment boys, real men understand. women and boys wont, was a good fight.

    I was rooting for Conor but I figured the later it went the more it would favor Floyd. Not mad about it, just mad that I spent like $35 on a 49-1 shirt :lebcry:

    This whole convo is tricky because it's based on the expectations you had before the fight. Conor did good in the way that a kid wrestling with his dad did good, but those are appropriate expectations for somebody with his tenure in the sport.
