Already sick and tired of every Tom, d-ck and Harry on these sports shows acting like they know what they're talking about. Around the Horn guys were acting like fucken Ramona Shelburne was some kind of MMA expert because she name dropped a UFC fighter that wasn't Ronda or Conor.

Mayweather has a clause that if McGregor uses any MMA move at any time of the fight he will lose a bunch of money and get sued LOL

I was hoping for McGregor to pick him up and toss him, pound the ground if it was in the late rounds and Mayweather was winning on points :)

Decent odds at 1/1 for Mayweather to win by KO/TKO...but Conor would be a hard man to actually knockout

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has always said it would take another nine-figure payday to get him out of retirement. That's exactly what he's expected to get when he faces UFC lightweight champion Conor Mcgregor in a boxing match on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

According to Keith Idec of Boxing Scene, Mayweather is expected to make at least $100 million but his take could balloon to four times that much if the event hits all of its monetary metrics. McGregor will make at least $75 million, which is five times as much as he's made from any UFC event he's fought.

McGregor has made millions from endorsement and other revenue, but he's never made this kind of money simply for f!ghting. His take could grow exponentially as well if the event is as big of a success as it's pacing to be.

Boxing Kingdom estimates the purses could be as high as $400 million for Mayweather and $127 million for McGregor.

That's the type of purse that would seemingly set an athlete up for like with no real need to compete again. Then again, Mayweather reportedly took home a similar payday in 2015 when he defeated Manny Pacquiao. UFC President Dana White has already said he fully expects McGregor to defend his 155-pound title in the Octagon before the end of the year. If that happens, it should be a fruitful year for the Irishman, win or lose.

All of the purses are an estimate. Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe says the two sides have a confidentiality agreement that restricts them from revealing all of the financial details publicly. There will be a preliminary release of the purses, per Nevada State Athletic Commission law the day before the f!ght, but that is only a baseline figure.

The percentages of the gate, pay-per-view buys and other bonuses will not be included in those numbers.

I'm kind of hoping MacGregor will just get a lucky connect to mayweather's head and KO. just because the shock would be ridiculous.

All signs point towards an experienced boxer beating an inexperienced boxer though

Got Mayweather KO at 1.9 on Betfair.

Very surprised at the odds for this fight. Must be a bit of money going on McGregor.

Not sure if you guys remember but Conor released a sparring video of this guy almost a year ago where it looked like he was killing him. Apparently it was edited to make it seem that way. The guy he sparred with (Chris van Heerden) released the unedited version today. He claims he didn't want any footage to leak because he wasn't in shape but was doing Conor a favor. Lights him up a few times here. This dude is solid, lost to Spence in 2015 vio KO in the 8th.

    ^ wow that's not even fair ^

dude is so much more fluid than McGregor...oh well, everyone will watch this because of the hype it will create and the WHAT IF factor...McGregor actually connects with an old Mayweather...

hoping Mayweather lost a step or two...but all reports say he is always in shape and training even after he retired

    Nah.
In Conor's loss to Nate he pretty much got "knocked out" in a sense that he absolutely gassed himself out and because of that was smashed with a perfect 1-2 to the face which stunned him bad. He then took the fight to the ground due to desperation where he was submitted. This was in the 2nd round lol.

Now remember, in Conor & Nates 2nd fight, Conor was once again absolutely gassed the f--- out mid-way through round 2 and Nate turned around the fight drastically. Conor somehow got a 2nd wind that won him the 4th which ultimately won him the fight.

Moving forward to the fight with Floyd. 12 rounds. Heavier gloves. Will be throwing aimlessly trying to hit Floyd. Conor will be outta gas out anywhere between rounds 5-7.
Once Conor gasses, Floyd will sense it and start playing offense, apply pressure and ultimately knock out a gassed out Conor.

Floyd by TKO in the 8th.

That's not getting knocked out though lol & my original point still stands: He WILL be hard to knock out - heavier gloves, only punches etc

Remember Conor will be training for a 12 round fight this time & he 100% knows how good Floyd is, and it is a lot easier to gas out in MMA as you're using so much more of your body than boxing, especially Conor with his creative striking. Capeiro kicks etc take a lot out of you..

Not saying this means it's gonna be a close fight - it's not - but I think people need to give McGregor more credit, I think he will surprise some people tbh

He trained specifically on cardio for the 2nd Diaz fight and STILL gassed in the 2nd lol it's not going to change

I might actually bet on this. Odds for Mayweather stopping Conor are great atm.

They might want to start doing some press conferences soon.

They will be vital if they want to break records.

Hope they make Gervonta Davis vs Orlando Salido for the undercard. That's a h--- of a fight. Davis captured a world title at 22 against a legit champ and already defended once. He gets after it from the opening bell. Salido is the de facto gatekeeper who pushes kids like him to the limits on a regular basis. He's the guy who gave Loma a loss (via d-ck punches). Fireworks written all over it.

Oh, and Mikey Garcia vs Adrien Broner is going down before May-Pac. That'll be a fun one. Especially if you want to see Broner unconscious.

A big part of Conor gassing was the pressure style Nate fights with, especially the later it goes. 5 x 5 minute rounds is 8+ rounds of boxing with only 4 minutes of rest instead of 7. I don't think you can take a whole lot from Conor's MMA fights, also think he takes more of a patient approach especially early. A lot of ppl think hes gonna come out and try to catch Floyd with something early, but I think he'll realize that's probably not gonna work.

My guess is a pretty clear Floyd decision, I don't rule out Conor getting an early round due to a feeling out process early where Conor just ends up throwing far more. Maybe the 1st round is the only one i give him a shot at getting.
