Sep 17, 2016 Looks good but still f--- konami. A Game dev leaked a little while ago that MGSV was set to be 5 chapters and some key features that were cut >An Mgs3/007 styled intro song after "v has come to" >More emphasis on skull face being evil as f--- >Skull face takes you on the jeep ride - originally meant to imitate the MGS3 ladder scene. then after arriving at OKB, he goes down that massive elevator shaft with you and shows off his lab where his experiments take place and the skull unit is created and more metal gears. (the guy who leaked the info said there was a lot more emphasis on skullface being a c----/evil/more torture scenes etc) >that house where you have to fight the burning man the leaker said Kojima wanted an unmarked outpost that when players discovered it, they'd be intrigued to go investigate it, but all it would be is an eerie/scary place where you start to hallucinate etc. That idea was then turned into the house you visit before fighting the burning man. (the children in beds with vocal parasite treatment were going to be in the OKB zero lab) >there was originally a part where, your DD soldiers and base collected tanks/choppers/drones would launch an assault alongside you at OKB Zero >chapter 3 was originally only unlocked through nuclear disarmament via players destroying nukes online >after chapter 3 was unlocked, there was going to be a chapter 4 and 5. >3 was set to take place in africa and have more story elements related to Eli/finding Eli >4 was going to be set on a new map, based in soviet russia leaker claimed it was a very urban, lots of buildings, war torn city kind of feel and would have been the part of the game that felt the most "metal gear" in terms of stealth gameplay, as in, if you got detected there'd be way more enemies >Chapter 5 was back to afghan/africa to explore more "outer heaven"/zanzibar land motif's/throwbacks and the chapter was going to end with Kingdom of the flies IApparently all the assets for these extra chapters, were never packaged into the game because Konami contacted KojiPro and said "this game has to be ps360 compatible" because "they are old don't understand games or what fans want, just numbers on paper that are profittable". This is 100% legit because i can even remember when MGSV was announced it was going to be a ps4 exclusive (that changed though - and i beleive its exactly because of what that leaker said) the leaker also stressed that ps360 hardware is so, so, so outdated, that it would have been impossible for them to put their entire vision into the game. So i think the "chapter 3 peace title card" is kojima hinting again at "they didnt let me do what i want"
Sep 17, 2016 Don't really buy any of this, just seems like a hoax to rile up fans and feed the Konami hatred. MGSV was always intended for PS3/Xbox 360, development began immediately after Peace Walker shipped in mid 2010, before PS4 dev kits were handed out to third parties, and development was ported up to PS4 part way through (sources for this being Kojima himself and Geoff Keighley, who Kojima originally pitched the game idea to). Also chapter 3 is a myth, the 'peace' title card was a photoshop using Peace Walker's chapter cards, and all of the "leaked chapter 3" cutscenes posted by dataminers weren't actually cut at all, they're all in the game that shipped. Per multiple people involved with the game, the only story content that was cut is the "kingdom of the flies" mission 51, and if you believe Konami's community manager (which everybody kneejerk decided they didn't because #FucKonami or whatever) mission 51 was never intended to ship as part of TPP and was intended to be released as DLC at a later date, so it's more cancelled content than cut content anyway.
