Apr 9, 2023 That’s understandable, it is pretty ridiculous which is why I found it funny. I also found him turning evil pretty cringe at certain points. His love story with Allyson felt like “ooo look at this good girl falling for a bad boy”. Obviously it wasn’t as cringey as some movies get… but still. Plus dude is just super weird and awkward from the very beginning, reminds me of some people I know Yeah, from what I’ve seen, it feels like Englund is Freddy. Definitely hard to replace. There’s gotta be someone out there who can do it though. I’ve never seen the remake, I’ve only seen portions of the older movies.
Apr 9, 2023 Tbh it's a f---ing cop out regarding tho whole "oh if Englund can't play freddy then nobody can" if you ask anyone that's the answer you will most likely get. Me, I don't really care since I enjoyed the reboot. Could it have been better? Yeah. Sure. It's worth watching if you like the Elm Street saga 100%
Apr 9, 2023 Fax. I mean, they replace Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, etc. all the time. They can totally replace Freddy. Sure it might be different but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. A lot of people just don’t like change without realizing that things can’t stay the same forever That’s good to hear. I’m honestly starting to get addicted to these horror films now after watching the new Halloween. I definitely wanna start watching the older Halloween movies and the Elm Street movies very very soon. Then eventually I’ll watch the Friday The 13th series again since even though I saw all of them I don’t remember most of them well
Apr 9, 2023 I think the training part was kinda corny but when u settle for cory being the bad guy after 50 minutes and out of nowhere michael shows up that was so cool lmap So glad michael ended up killing corey though. But I like the whole storyline about Haddonfield going crazy which started in Kills and continued in Ends. Michael was gone but people were still traumatized. And corey was affected by that trauma. Kinda cool. Still happy that in the end it actually was about michael again though.
Apr 9, 2023 You saw Evil Dead yet? They got a new one coming this month. I'd avoid Evil Dead 2 and 3 though. Very cheesy.
Apr 9, 2023 I do wonder why they went with that. Like I get trying to get a new perspective and making a kid go so crazy and turn him into a new killer.. but it would make a lot more sense in a Freddy vs Jason kinda way and Michael would be like f--- that kid, this town is mine. Eventually it was like that.... but why he helped him and let him take his mask is still f---ing stupid to me. Also I kinda liked the Elms. Reboot..... except for Freddy. It was basically a remake, no new storyline (unlike Halloween) which was okay but like u said urself its impossible to replace the GOAT Robert..
Apr 9, 2023 Wait what? Army of Darkness is fun as h--- lmao. Not scary at all but love it.. been like 10 years since I last saw it Also @Ripper Roo following ur lead and watched H2018 tonight. Kills and Ends later this week! The rest of the 12 movies probably in october. And gonna rewatch the whole elms franchise too
Apr 9, 2023 @BIGFOOT Elmst to you is what Halloween is to me Do you agree w me that New Nightmare is by far the best movie of the franchise?
Apr 9, 2023 They should've gone with something like: High school kid is a secret admirer of the Michael Myers killings, week after week his admiration becoming more deranged which ultimately ends up with him becoming a killer too, only to meet Myers down the line with Myers killing him... Now that would've been better imo. Deffo better than being trained by Myers lmao. I actually didn't mind the freddy, he wasn't as good as Roberts rendition but wasn't bad neither especially since we've never had anyone else play the role before. Imagine if they chose Jack Black, now that would been bad LOL.
Apr 9, 2023 Man I hate comedy horror.... I rewatched Army of Darkness like a month ago. It's got some good scenes in for sure and it isn't terrible at it yh I like my horror movies to be scary and not comical which is why I hate half of the Elm Streets.
Apr 9, 2023 For sure. There’s part of me that likes the idea of it even though it’s corny. Maybe it would be better if wasn’t Michael training a 21 year old but instead teaming up with someone who already kinda knows what they’re doing. I agree. The movie had good ideas but messed up with the execution of them. If this was real life, people would definitely be traumatized by Michael. Some would be inspired by Michael. And a lot of times these movies don’t address things like that. It makes the world feel more fleshed out when they do
Apr 9, 2023 I agree to an extent but I guess they really wanted to have this "curse' of Michael thing. Having a copycat would have been to much like Scream. He was bullied and forced into killing.. cursed and helped by Michael. Its fine I just think it was so weird to end Kills with this supernatural monster killing 30 like people and then go to a bum living in the sewers getting beat up by some kid lmfao. But I also understand they didn't want to do just another michael rampage for the 14th time. So yeah I understand them wanting to do something new.
Apr 9, 2023 I disagree. I think The OG is the best followed by 2 and then New Nightmare. Haven't watched New Nightmare in probably 10 years so I think I'm going to rewatch it sometime this week. Jokes aside, 2 is actually good lol. I don't understand the dislike from some people. More people that have gone back and rewatched are also wondering why they disliked in the first place. I understand that Kruger isn't in it as much as the first movie. His runtime in 2 is very low, but he's 1000000% the most evil menacing Freddy even though his runtime is low.
Apr 9, 2023 Nah, I’ve only seen portions. Definitely need to watch those too. When it comes to a lot of these older horror films I’ve only seen portions because I had family members who really liked horror but I was a small kid so I was usually too scared to watch the whole movie
Apr 9, 2023 I think it was just rushed. They should have taken (or had) more time to figure this out. Another thing that reallllllly bugs me: Lindsey. If you seen the original u know she's been a part of the story since day one. She was brought back in Kills and even fought Michael and survived. Then they hyped her up for Halloween Ends as a final girl and she had like what, 3 scenes ? And she wasn't even present for the final scenese.... very weird and again shows those small details were forgotten because they had to rush it.
Apr 9, 2023 h--- yeah! Despite the flaws, I think it’s a very good trilogy. Also, I’m not one to normally pay attention to cinematography, but these movies were shot really well. They all look so cool. That shot of Michael coming out of the burning house in Kills is so badass, no wonder it’s your profile pic
