Sep 13, 2023 Didn't finish it, I thought it was pretty boring. I saw people say Bly was also boring but I think Victoria killed it.
Sep 13, 2023 I really loved it but I think you have to be invested in a lot of what they're talking about, I can see how a bunch of 15 minute monologues about religion could be boring lol. Agree on Victoria, she's on my long list of celebrity wives
Sep 14, 2023 I thought the first season of OA was nice but very confusing. The second also started weird but at the end of it I was like yeah, finally things are getting interesting. And then w a huge cliffhanger it was over. Ugh..
Sep 14, 2023 Next Final Destination Probably the 3rd or 4th time watching it. Very different from 'usual' slasher movies even if it still has the high school / teenage stuff. The idea was fresh, and I enjoyed this movie a lot. And honestly, still do! 7/10 Final Destination 2 A very nice sequel that pays hommage to the first one in many ways, yet is also a direct continuation of the first one. I like how its all connected to eachother. And yeah this was my introduction to beauty AJ Cook before Criminal Minds. Story is more of the same as 1 except w some new elements. Very interested in the new one (part 6) thats coming too! 7/10 Incident in a Ghostland Man. I saw this on Netflix and the good reviews. I totally expected a ghostmovie given the title. After the opening scenes I also still thought that... but then the major twist came and the movie turned into a totally different one. I have to say, it was pretty brilliant, and the movie is very disturbing and kept me at the edge of my seat. However, if I knew beforehand, I wouldn't have watched it I think. Spoiler I love horror movies, a lot. Kills, creatures no matter how scary, love it. But I hate torture movies. And in this case, it was about torturing and raping kids... sorry I draw a line there. It said the producer also made Martyrs.. and this was similar. Also has amazing reviews but I refuse to watch it
Sep 14, 2023 School shooting u mean? Yeah I thought that whole weird dance thing was stupid as s--- lol but I like the dimension travelling. Thats why it s----d that they quit after getting even more interesting
Sep 14, 2023 Yeah, the shooting. S2 was too weird for me, didn't like it, so I didn't care when Netflix got rid of it.
Sep 14, 2023 I don't mind ending a show, but at least wrap up storylines and give it a proper goodbye. I hate getting invested in a show that eventually has no ending lol
Sep 20, 2023 Aight next few Cabin in the Woods Second time after seeing it years ago. The thing is, they advertised this as 'not what you expect!' and while this is true, they already show the 'twist' very early on in the movie. At least some very obvious hints. Does that really matter? No, but it takes away the big surprise when its really shown. The movie is pretty unique, and also a fun watch. Its filled with plot holes that are never explained, and honestly its kind of stupid and impossible (aside from the supernatural aspects I mean) but I like it. The ending is weird though, and the motives I wish they explored further. Felt really rushed. Anyways, I don't think its as great and groundbreaking as a lot of people say, but its good and unique. And thats not very common with horror movies or movies in general. 7/10 Happy Death Day Not so much horror, mostly a slasher/thriller. Kinda Scream meets Groundhog Day. A girl gets killed and has to relive that day until she solves her own murder. Yes its of course a GD rip off. But 99% of the movies are a rip off and this idea was sort of fresh. Even if Supernatural (tv show) did the exact same thing w a different context. However, seen it 3 times now, and this is one of my favorite slasher movies that will definitely get on my anual watch list. 8.5/10 Truth or Dare I'll say it: modern day classic. A lot of horror movies start out with a killer, or a family that moves into a spooky house (personally I'm so tired of the latter, even if some of them are amazing like Conjuring). The idea of Truth or Dare probably isn't the first time, as they used games in horror movies more often. But they did it perfectly here. It's creepy, characters are good and I enjoyed it a lot even this second time. 8/10 Soo thats 10 down, like 30-40 to go until november 1st!
Sep 20, 2023 d--- that soundtrack. This has potential! Wish he did a Halloween series though like he intended after H1 but gonna watch this 4 sure when I can
Sep 20, 2023 Yeah idk. It was definitely not needed lol. Ending of 1 was perfect even if we didn't know the 'reason'. They didn't ruin it with the second one and I like that they changed the genre (its more a scifi/drama than horror/thriller) but it was risky. I thought it was okay but like I said not needed.
Sep 26, 2023 My fam set up a list of movies to watch this season, outside of that my brother got a Saw box set so I assume we'll try to get through those as well. Starting the spooky season with a rewatch with the legacy sequel of The Shining that unfortunately bombed at the time of it's release Doctor Sleep. Created by one of my favorite modern horror director/writer Mike Flanagan who's show I recently posted about here (and it's getting good reviews!) will update when I watch the movie but I assume I'll still very much like it! Crazy that it was the thing that got Stephen King to warm up to the Stanley Kubrick adaptation of The Shining after hating it for years.
