Sep 30, 2017 Saw mother! last night, d--- it's pretty crazy. You have to understand the allegory of it or you'll be confused as f--- throughout the movie.. Wouldn't really call it a horror movie tbh. I liked it, pretty sad overall though.
Sep 30, 2017 Dude you’re fine lol. And I read your summary. I completely get your love for the film now. I do appreciate that he did something different. It definitely transcends the slasher genre and is innovative. I guess some of the things in the movie were instant turn offs for me. For one I’m not a huge fan of gratuitous blood and gore and I’ll admit it clouded my judgment of the film a bit. I still don’t think it’s on the level of Carpenter’s Halloween but it definitely didn’t deserve the uninanimously negative reception. My first impressions weren’t good but it was still clearly far from the worst Halloween film. And I’d even say it’s better than his first Halloween film. Because his first paid homage to the original a lot and that honestly hurt it more than it helped it. The first half was much better than the second which was just a mess.
