May 31, 2024 What's up brother? It's been a minute! Hope all is well in your world my man. Okay cool I will definitely check it out. I actually like to Prey At Night so hopefully I like this
Jun 1, 2024 s----s been great over here hope the same for you my dude! And dope lemme know when you see it, interested to see your thoughts on the movie itself but also if you have the same thought about the setup
Jun 2, 2024 Haven't seen it yet. Have you? Really curious though since I loved both the first and second one. This is gonna be a remake right? Since the 2nd one pretty much ended the story.
Jun 2, 2024 I could be wrong but I almost feel like its an Evil Dead to Evil Dead 2 where it's like a Re-Quel. Because it is like beat for beat the OG but nothing in it from what I remember necessitates it not being in the same universe or whatever. Tried looking it up but everything is using the vagueness of things like "not a remake or a reboot but a relaunch" or "soft reboot" which is like to me they havent decided or they dont want to say for whatever reason. Very interested in hearing your take when you've seen it as well man because I love the original and maybe I need to give Prey at Night a rewatch because you two and two of my friends have said they enjoyed it now and I feel like I musta just not been in the right zone for it when I watched it
Jun 2, 2024 So basically its like re-telling the story? I mean it can't be a sequel really because of how Prey At Night ended... Strangers 2 does have a different vibe as it has more music and the characters not being in a house for the whole movie. But the kills, the stalking is great and creepy af. I can't listen to Kim Wilde's Cambodia without thinking about the scene lol music used is great here. The ending is a bit dramatic imo (burning scene lasts too long) but I absolutely love the movie. Imma let you know!
Jun 2, 2024 Going to see the new strangers movie tonight I'm sure it sucks but I have a couple free movie passes lol Looks like a knock off of the original (the original is awesome)
Jun 2, 2024 As someone who’s not huge on the OG strangers, I’ve been weary about this one considering people say it’s just the OG but if it was worse
Jun 2, 2024 fair i dont remember the ending or it being really connected to 1 tbh i might rewatch tn and come back with my thoughts! And yeah man like a VERY close retelling, all the beats are nearly identical with some slight changes to like scenario. Excited to hear your thoughts!
Jun 3, 2024 Spoiler it has no connection, story wise, to the first one. Just the 'strangers'. They all get killed so its a definite ending it seems
Jun 8, 2024 Thanksgiving Finally, I watched it. I kinda built up some hype for this movie seeing all the good reviews for this. I don't know why, but my expectations were sky high for this. Therefore, I was a little let down. It's just a good slasher movie imo. I never really connected with the characters (other than the 2 lead women being hot af) the way I did with Scream etc. But to be fair, with so many movies characters grow on you. If Dewey was killed in Scream 1 it would have been a pity, but in S5 it was a huge moment. For some reason this movie really reminds me of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Small town, the parade being the endgame, the group of friends. Some of the kills were cool, the 'twist' was kinda fun, but it wasn't special to me. Should it have been? Nah. The endgame with the dinner table was funny, and they truly captured the Thanksgiving theme I love that. Story was cool too. Definitely goes on my anual list and I wouldn't be surprised if this gets sequels, I hope so! 7.5/10
Jun 8, 2024 Brightburn A couple find a baby in the woods that fell from the sky and decide to adopt him. When he turns 12 his behaviour changes and he develops supernatural powers. It reads more like a sci-fi than horror but especially the first hour it has a lot of horror elements (reminded me of Carrie a little). However there's not that much character growth and never any explanation of the events. Its a fun watch but leaves you only with questions. 6.5/10
Jun 8, 2024 I watched it yesterday, I enjoyed it although the ending was a little s---. The table idea was great though.
Jun 8, 2024 Started the House of Usher, on episode 3 now. I like the story but the f---ing monologues are so exhausting lol. Then I saw its the same dude that made Midnight Mass. That explains a lot lol since that was boring and preachy as s---. Gonna keep watching this though its good aside from that
