Well they still have to be skinny if they want to make it. Most fat chicks end up making comedy lol

I forgot to post this last night, but Speak No Evil was an 8/10 to me. Much better movie than I expected it to be. I absolutely have to check out the 2022 version now

But the biggest victory is never having to see that trailer before a movie again

    Conjuring 2

There's always a debate about what sequels surpass the original. In my opinion, this is definitely one of them. Don't get me wrong, love the first one. But the cliché 'family moves into a new house' I'm kinda tired off. Same as I said about The Babadook, this movie starts with a family already living there so we can skip that stuff. Same as the first, the haunting slowly builds up. But what I like about this, is that along with the lovers stuff, the hauntings also happen to Loraina and Ed themselves. So its double fun!

The Nun, and the Crooked Man are creepy as h---, even if the solo movie of the Nun wasn't as good. Isn't there supposed to be a movie about the CM coming too? Very creepy movie, filled with a little sadness and despair as well, to me this does surpass the OG a little! 8/10

    Smile

Second time watching this, I have to say I finished it like 2 hours ago and I'm still a little creeped out by it. So I guess it serves the purpose a movie like that should. However, I don't think the movie is as good to me as I though the first time. Still think it's fine, but I kinda wish the movie focussed more on the demon than constantly the story of the main character and her mom. They switched to the 'investigation' part when not that many has happened yet imo. The scary parts were actually scary though.
The ending was lame as s---. Like, I can understand hallucinating a spirit, but did she dream the whole fire part in the cabin and driving to the guys appartment or....?
Also what an idiot to stick around and watch her set herself on fire, knowing what will happen next. I think the whole cabin scene (so the last half hour or so) were a bit of an anticlimax with a very unsatisfying ending.
    Anyway, still a 7.5/10!

    100%!

Saw that Naomi Scot is the lead actress! :emoji_heart:

Hope it will dive more into the story behind the pattern and still be scary as s---.

I've watched quite a bit of movies already and october is still to come. Still waiting on that one movie to finally be released on dvd or proper download. I really wanna watch LNWTD in the week of Halloween!

I really need to watch the first Smile because the trailers for Smile 2 look amazing.

Also, how come you wait for movies you want to see to come out on DVD or download? Just personal preference? I know I couldn't wait that long for something I want to see just out of pure excitement and also fear of spoilers haha

Oh yeah first one is good too! But hoping for an even better one. Didn't watch the trailer yet trying to avoid possible spoilers haha.

Well, because most movies I can't see otherwise... I can't watch it on Primevideo in Europe and its not on Netflix or whatever here sadly..i
I know there are streaming websites but I want to watch it in great quality and on my tv.

So waiting a while it is :emoji_slight_frown:

I'm rewatching Smile and I'm loving it, just like Barbarian. Enjoying them on second watch way more. Just like with Malignant back in the days.

I'm a little on a haunted house movie streak. Most of the slashers (the big franchises etc) I will save for october and some of my favorites like Annabelle & Exorcist too.

    Anyways,

Ouija 2: The Origin of Evil

I really like that this is a fresh take. A family that doesn't believe in ghosts and actually mocks and exploits people that do. But what I like as well is that this didn't turn into such a religion thing, and there were no mediums, camera circus and other clichés like Insidious and Conjuring movies. They kept it small, I like that. Its still very creepy nontheless. Great acting from all people involved.
I already forgot about the first Ouija, gonna revisit that one too. Only thing I 'forgot', has been a few years, is the ending. I was sure it had a good ending, but it doesn't lol. But even that is a nice change for once. Imo this is a gem! 7.5/10

    Hereditary

One of the most praised horror movies of the past 10 years. The way I review and rate movies is based on how much I enjoy watching them this time. Usually watching movies more often that doesn't change that much. However this one, there's a big difference. This movie is a great story about grief, and how people cope with it. The twist and eventual backstory is nice and the build up is very slow but good.
But knowing the movie, knowing the twist, knowing when the scary parts are gonna come.. this was way to long and boring to me. Before anything horror happens the movie is already an hour in and soon as the action starts its already over. The first hour was great, the first time. But this time I couldn't wait for it to be over. Probably a 8/10 movie but as far as replay value goes, a 6.5 for me.
