Oct 23, 2024 Just finished Halloween (2007) d--- I like this so much more than I remember even if it's far from perfect. Now first the task of getting through Halloween 2 without turning it off like last time lol
Oct 24, 2024 The GOAT. Sweeney would also be the perfect dumb blonde but all her movies s--- so keep her out of this please.
Oct 24, 2024 Well they ignored 3 for the rest of the franchise (except a brief mention in 6) so wouldn't be mad at that
Oct 24, 2024 So, october 24th. Got (almost) every day off until november 1st so its time for more movies! But first the ones I watched yesterday and today;
Oct 24, 2024 Halloween (2007) Rob Zombies remake. I am a little conflicted about this. One hand they tried to do something completely different, yet they copied a lot from the original. The biggest difference, obviously, is the backstory. Michael Myers had no reason to k---, he was just pure evil going after innocent people. This Michael grew up in a f----- up family: a stripper/whor- mother, a slutty sister and an abusive piece of s--- stepfather. Add some bullies at school and nobody is surprised he snapped one day and killed those assholes. Then he just kills people getting in the way of reuniting with his sister, and breaks down when he finds her. When she stabs him in the back (uh shoulder) he lashes out at her too. Its all emotions. This is a completely different take, which I kinda like but also makes it less, I dunno, creepy. You don't feel sorry for the people he kills in the first half of the movie. The second half is in a lot of ways similar to the original, except since half of the runtime is already over, it's rushed. Plus side, there's not many boring moments, the kills and action keeps coming constantly. But one of the most important aspects of Michael is also gone: the stalking, hunting his victims. He goes right for the k---. If you ask me, they could have made this movie into 2. The first taking a little more time to focus on his childhood , the therapy and how he eventually snaps, ending with him escaping Smiths Grove. And the secone one taking a little more time getting the characters to grow on us. Because I never really cared for this Laurie that much. She was also a different person, more slutty and annoying. But the constant excessive screaming the last 30 minutes was just terrible lol. Brad Dourif as the sherrif (hello Charles Lee Ray /Chucky) and Annie (hello Jamie Lloyd) were great though! Also the Halloween elements were great. And of course, the original score makes it already dope. I liked this more than last time tbh. A little rushed, an entirely different take, but fun to watch! 7.5/10 Halloween 2 (2009) Oh boy. I realized yesterday that I've only seen the first 10 minutes before and turned it off when the mom and white horse showed up lol. I have to say there's a lot more good stuff in here than I thought and some really, I dunno, refreshing elements compared to other sequels and timelines. The opening was kinda cool, a nice hommage to the original part 2 with the hospital stuff. But jezus how annoying is her screaming lol. The original H2 takes place on the same night, in part 4 Laurie is dead, H20 she is a functioning alcoholic, in H40 she's also kinda f----- up decades later. But this is the first movie that focusses on Laurie shortly after the horrible night. A traumatized and torn person, this is a fresh take and some parts she did a good job showing that. Is the execution always enjoyable? Not all of it, she was still annoying as h--- sometimes, but it was a great idea. Loomis trying to help Laurie in H2, here he was turned into a selfish arrogant d-ck. Was it enjoyable? Not really for me, but I did like how Linda's dad confronted him. He got what he deserved imo. In H2 Michael was burned to the ground, his eyes got shot out, yet in H4 and especially H20 he was perfectly fine. Also, what has he been doing all those years?? That does not make sense. This movie painted a more realistic picture of that: he lived on the streets, got dirtier every day and had to eat a dog to survive. Another dope idea. In these movies he was more 'human' than the other entries even if he's still almost impossible to k---. What I did find weird is how in both part 1 and 2 he killed everyone but tortured Annie and left her to die. Why her? Lots of good ideas, some of them they also used in the most recent trilogy. Again, Dourif and Danielle killed their roles! But the whole ghost and horse s---.... awful. Especially when they made Laurie see them as well. The last part where it's again so much screaming, ugh. But also, and this is more personal opinion, the whole ghotic vibe and dumb r----- redneck characters, I didn't really like it. But that is Zombie's thing I guess. He did it less in the first one. But what I missed most... the Halloween theme/score!!!! The OG H2 has the best theme of all, this didn't have one at all. Conclusion, lots of great and fresh ideas, execution was sometimes good, sometimes not so good. The whole ghost stuff was bs and ruined a lot for me. And Loomis, UGH. But still, I liked it more than I thought beforehand. 6.5/10 waaaaay better than Ressurection! The Autopsy of Jane Doe A boy and his father that run a morgue/coroners get a dead body of a young body to investigate. While they get closer to the truth, weird s--- starts to happen. Honestly, this is all I'm gonna say because I think most people haven't seen this yet. But this is just.... scary as s---. This kept haunting me after I first seen it and it still creeps me the f--- out. A must watch if you're not obsessed with constant kills and action. 8.5/10 Tomorrow Screeeeam trilogy
Oct 24, 2024 I wasn’t a big fan of the hillbilly aspect in Halloween 2007. Maybe that’s because I don’t like hillbillies. Still a solid movie though
