Oct 31, 2022 True horror comes in games now. More tension and scares that come from this type of media now. CGI is so outdated in films now and is falling behind in technology in that regards. Watched Smile before and it’s a good concept and set up for a horror story but the CGI is shocking, takes me out of it. Why Paranormal Activity is one of the best modern horror films because it’s perfect in tension and what they show or don’t show.
Oct 31, 2022 d--- gonna be sum bloody p----.. Soo halloween is over here. And so is my rewatch of Kills
Nov 1, 2022 Yeah I wouldn't go that far, and we don't really celebrate it here either, but since the 13th when I watched it I felt like 31st was already over with a bad taste in my mouth. Gonna watch it, with different expectations, in 5 minutes. Also despite some huge eye rolling choices / moments, I love Halloween Kills
Nov 1, 2022 @Marsh let me just say this one thing first I watched the extended ending of Kills yesterday were Laurie left the hospital. Before I go talk about the actual movies..... they really should have used the last 20 minutes of Ends, and add them to Kills. Like, it makes sense after being kicked down by the mob that Michael was a little weakened. Having Laurie end him at that moment, and the whole town following them to the junkyard, destroying his body. Would have been literally perfect. Now, there's no explanation for his weakness and as viewers we were waiting the whole movie for Michael to show up. If Michael was already dead, and Laurie's last words were (as they were in Ends) "evil takes a new shape" it would also be the perfect set up for Corey's story. I truly think they just kept Michael alive because they wanted to avoid a Halloween 3 situation where nobody would care and wanted to watch it lol. But yeah the actual ending is pretty good imo just the scenes where he gets overpowered by Corey were lame. Combine Kills w the last 20minutes of Ends and it would have been a (near) perfect sendoff IMO.
Nov 1, 2022 I have yet to watch the extended tbh, it comes with the bluray, but I rarely buy blurays anymore. Just streaming/downloading.
Nov 1, 2022 Its just laurie calling karen and michael picking up instead of the movie ending.. and then she says I'm coming for you michael and walks out the hospital... adding the last 20 mins of Ends to that and it's perfect TBH
Nov 1, 2022 Honestly, the biggest issue I had was the way it put some loser kid in the spotlight. While it was advertised completely different. My 2nd watch, knowing this, made me appreciate it a lot more. I still think they treated michael poorly, and they should have told coreys story after michaels death. But I kinda like the story itself and I gotta say... the actuall ending, the last 20 minutes were great. If you ask me, despite the rest of the movie, did the story of MM and Laurie get a proper ending, I say yes. Gonna rank and rate them all now. Some very impopular takes I'm sure.
Nov 1, 2022 Aight Counting down, 12 to 1. Yes there are 13 technically but only gonna do the Myers movies. H3 I truly see as a standalone one. You also have to see this as a Stan reviewing Eminem albums; I love this franchise. And the rating is mostly compared to the others, doesn't mean I automatically put it above or below other movies. 12. Halloween Resurrection Despite H20 being pretty boring overall (I get to that later) it had a good ending. Closure. The way they ruined that with the opening was not only a s-----y move, it was also f---ing stupid. There is no way it was a paramedic that broke out of the body bag, survived falling through the car window and still managed to reach out to Laurie. It was obvious that H20 was indeed the ending but they were somehow forced to bring Michael back. So they made up some bs story. But despite that, even if they had a really lame way to bring Michael back... at least make it worth it. No, they brought him back to k--- off Laurie in a few minutes and then play Big Brother with Busta f---ing Rhymes. The characters were very uninteresting, nobody cares, and the whole storyline of investigating Michaels childhood was just.. ugh. Is there anything that I do like about this movie? Yes, the Halloween theme was pretty cool. 2/10
Nov 5, 2022 Terrifier 2 is amazing. It’s doing what Halloween did in the 80s. Success and acclaim the film is getting really does show that horror can still exist in movies. Really puts these modern Halloween films to shame. They had like 250k budget and have passed 250mil dollars now, insane. If you like gore, creepy clowns and a brutal slasher, then this film has it all. Impressed with how much I enjoyed it. Funny that it’s close to getting Oscar nominations. Can’t imagine the pretentious panel watching this haha.
