Apr 9, 2023 I mean, NN is impossible without the OG since its based on it but man it was so cool bringing Freddy into the real world. Love it. 3 was also cool, after that it went downhill... untill FvsJ and NN! I still need to see 2, I heard that it was a huge step down from part 1 (well what movie isn"t except for some) but I don't think I'll hate it.

Apr 9, 2023 All 3 are shot very well I agree. Very very curious how u are gonna watch the old ones now. Like the opposite direction. Going from cool modern movies to 1978 - 1998 lmao. Gonna be weird. But if u watched 1, u will get more of this trilogy. And, if u watched 2, 4, 5, 6 and H20... u will see a lot of easter eggs (HA!) in the trilogy too when u watch them again!
Apr 9, 2023 Yeah after 3 they went into the comedy horror realm which destroyed any chance of me liking it. Even Freddy vs Jason sucks kinda to me because Kruger is comedic. I prefer his evil style like in the OG and 2. I actually think you'll really enjoy 2.
Apr 9, 2023 It won’t bother me too much as I already know how a lot of older movies look. Plus, me and a lot of others my age find the older aesthetics to look vintage and cool right now. That’s why these past few years there’s a lot of music videos that have VHS effects and s--- like that added to them. Something about lower quality can make things feel more authentic

Apr 9, 2023 Yeah older movies without so much effects and s--- definitely feel more authentic. And if u like the new trilogy, I'm sure u will appreciate at least the OG, 2, and 4. Rest , to me, ranks from okay to very average. And Ressurection is awwwwwful wouldn't bother lol

Apr 9, 2023 I personally think Dream Warriors and OG are the best by far. Every single Evil Dead movie is really good imo although that could be my extreme bias towards Sam Raimi talking, it even had a really good reboot which very few horror movies have. Yeah I noticed the same especially the Corey in exit of the sewer shot where the camera starts moving, I'm a sucker for cameras doing cool s--- in movies.
Apr 9, 2023 I rewatched Shaun Of The Dead recently and it's still f---ing great. Love basically every Edgar Wright movie I've seen, Scott Pilgrim is one of my favorites and I really want to rewatch Hot Fuzz and The World's End, need to watch Last Night In Soho and Baby Driver for the first time still.
Apr 9, 2023 Oh yeahhhh I forgot Sam Raimi directed them. That makes me wanna watch them more. I know that’s why Bruce Campbell made cameos in the Sam Raimi directed Spider-Man movies. You could really see Sam Raimi’s horror roots in the Spider-Man 2 scene where Doc Ock attacks that room full of surgeons. Also in the new Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness movie I can’t even imagine coming up with shots like that. That’s something most movie watchers don’t often think about. A lot of work and skill goes into these movies, even if the final product doesn’t always end up being the best it could’ve been.
Apr 9, 2023 Yeah man that Doc Ock scene is kinda f----- compared to the rest of the movie. Crazy how his directing and the things he obviously had direct involvement in were the best parts of Doctor Strange. fun fact in every movie he directs he finds a way to fit in the car he lost his virginity in lmfao. I always try to pay attention to the way scenes are shot or how action scenes are choreographed (I'm a sucker for one shot stuff like in Daredevil or Barry, there's a lot of it in Mike Flanagan shows as well since we're on the horror topic), it's where a lot of the sauce of movies and shows come into play and as a person who's a huge nerd for this s--- I always love some strong visuals, that's partially why I liked the new Batman so much, sure there's some problems in the movie but the way it's shot and lit is so f---ing cool that I can basically forgive the lesser parts lol.
Apr 10, 2023 The thing is, I notice cool things like that when I like the movie. And I do in this case. But like w Midsommar... its one of the best movies when it comes to filming, landscapes etc. But I don't really give a s--- since I don't like the movie itself. If u know what I mean lol
