Oct 13, 2023 Just rewatched Rob Zombie's Halloween. Honestly, I think it gets too much hate. Yeah it isn't anywhere near as good as the original, but compared to other horror remakes (Friday the 13th 2009 and Nightmare on Elm Street 2010) it's solid. Danny Trejo's death gets me every time
Oct 13, 2023 Spoiler: Exorcist review, some spoilers Thought Exorcist was pretty good! It'll never been good as the first but I never expected it to be. I would've liked more time of testing them before going straight to religion, and I liked the directing for the most part and the kids did great. My main complaint is that Ellen Burstyn did not need to be in the movie AT ALL she was only there for 10 minutes exclusively for trailer shots, an excuse for Linda Blair to be there and to inflate the stakes in an artificial way by getting her eyes stabbed, the movie wouldn't have changed in any major way if she wasn't in it. Still overall enjoyed it, especially the first half and all the trial and error of finding them and caring for them, which was also the best part of the 1st movie! Interested to see what they do with a sequel cause idk how you switch it up enough to justify a second movie but I'll check it out either way!
Oct 13, 2023 I still never watched Halloween 2 from him but I honestly love the first one, I think it's better if you just view it through the lense of another Rob Zombie movie which I think are as hysterical as they are f----- up. Also I was never that big of a Friday The 13th fan (especially compared to the other major slashers) so I enjoy the remake, been a minute since I've watched though! The Elm Street remake is a g.d. travesty
Oct 14, 2023 Yeah watched Halloween 2007 few weeks ago again its fine. This version of Laurie sucks but I like the opening half (his youth) mostly and the rest is basically copy past but a little worst. Okay remake! I don't mind F13. Its has a great cast and it had Jason, where the OG didn't. Its okay. The major problem w Elmst. remake is that nobody can replace Robert Englund as Freddy... nobody.
Oct 14, 2023 Spoiler I kinda agree that having Chris (and Regan) didn't really do THAT much for the movie. But without them they could have called this movie Conjuring 4 (because they conjured the demons), or "the possession of Katherine and Angela" for that matter. In order to call it an exorcist sequel it needed links to the OG: Chris, Regan, the OG demon voice, the many easter eggs. Same way Halloween remake needed the link to Laurie. I LOVED how they (same w halloween) used the original theme and end credits style. @jankland

Oct 14, 2023 Yeah let me rephrase that: I watched the first 20 minutes of Halloween 2 (2009) and I got so mad they absolutely ruined Laurie and Dr. Loomis characters (they were kinda meh in part 1 but here.... smh) I turned it off lol. Yeah except for Katy Cassidy I thought all characters in Elmst remake were very bad. But especially Freddy. Friday 13th at least had a good cast with Supernatural hero Jared Padelecki as the lead.
