Oct 15, 2023 Pretty sure the guy that made the movie also said it lol. If freddy winked which he did, how is he dead? He's a sleep demon... If you watch the TV series it explains what he is but sadly they're all in terrible quality so it makes them a hard watch. Worse than good VHS is only what I fount awhile back.
Oct 15, 2023 I meant the fact that it was the first Freddy or Jason movie you saw. I loved the movie as well!
Oct 15, 2023 In 2003 I was 11, think I saw it when I was 13 or 14. After that time I started watching other horror movies. Nice!
Oct 15, 2023 Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)- This is now my third time seeing the movie, and it never gets old. The concept of an undead child molester who kills you in your sleep is a concept that holds up to this day. You can avoid going to a shady camp. You can outrun a murderous mute. But never sleep? Impossible. The ending is still one of the best in the slasher genre in my opinion. People laugh at the effects today but I think practical is wayyyyyy better for the horror genre than cgi. 8.5/10 Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors- This was my third time watching this one as well. Honestly my favorite sequel in all of horror. A great return to form after the abomination that was 2. Having Nancy return as a psychiatrist to help the kids was a great touch. Freddy was at his best in this movie, the perfect balance of serious and funny imo. Who can forget classic scenes like this? I get why some people may think the whole dream power thing is corny but I feel like it still fit well within the universe. It's also cool to see a young Laurence Fishburne and Patricia Arquette too. 8.5/10 The only film in the series I haven't seen is 6. I kinda want to watch it just to complete the series but I couldn't even finish 5 so I don't know. At least 5 gave us this classic:
Oct 15, 2023 Nice little jabs at Michael and Jason u dickhead!!!!!! But yeah I def agree w Elmst 1. It really is f---ing great. Also love how you speak the truth about part 2 (@BIGFOOT lmao). I don't think the 3rd one is as good as the first, but its pretty good. Nancy back is really great same as bringing Don back. Some really cool death scenes too! My watch last week was my 3rd too I think. Part 1 in the days before Halloween! However, New Nightmare is on another level. Gonna watch it again too be4 halloween!
Oct 15, 2023 On to the next ones, I watched today: Pet Semetary (2019) Second time watching it. Judd from the OG was a real character, in this one he's more a regular dude. The story itself is very similar to the original too but with some subtle changes. Love how they made us think the boy was gonna die like in the og and they switched it to the girl last minute. Some very spooky moments and touching moments. Its sad, scary, and really well done. But can we please put a ban on starting horror movies with a family in a car in their way to their new home? 7.5/10 Exorcist 2: The Heretic One of, if not the most hated horror (sequel) movie ever. I can definitely see the negative reactions since the tone of the movie is entirely different. The hypnosis thing is kinda strange and the locust stuff was really stupid. Also they completely ignored Karras that took over Regans possession. But thats fixed in part 3. Its a weird, messy movie. However, going back to Merrin and have some backstory in Afrika, back to Washington, and making Regan have a battle inside is kinda cool. Again the locust story was lame as h--- at the end, but I loved the flashbacks and they did a good job with the demon stuff. And yeah the idea of finding out Merrins COD was cook. The machine was a little weird but the connection itself okay. Having good and evil Reagan in the same room>> To close this, I saw that she was 18 when the movie came out, Linda/Regan was pretty hot in this movie! 6.5/10
Oct 15, 2023 I watched the newest edition for Pet Semetery last week... Not good viewing unfortunately. It's like a 4/10 at best. Shame because the OG is a classic. Not talking about 2019 version btw, I liked that one a lot... New one is Pet Semetery Bloodlines.
Oct 15, 2023 I plan to watch New Nightmare again to see if it grows on me. Loved the concept of it though. My current slate is 6, New Nightmare, Freddy vs Jason, Saw franchise, then maybe Friday the 13th franchise. I have a feeling those later entries are going to be an absolute chore to get through. Now I have a confession. The only Halloween movies I've seen are the og one, and Rob Zombie's 1 and 2. Which ones are worth watching and which ones are ok to skip?
Oct 15, 2023 I promise you 6 isn't like 5 at all. Freddy isn't cringe, he's more like how he was in 2 but with more dream scenes. The reason why I rate 2 high is basically because of how Kruger is portrayed, evil as a mfer. It's got some of his best quoteables too. The bird scene, pool scene, bus, club, were all hard. Even the basement scene is classic. Don't understand the hate lol. Just because the director is a fa---- and made some of the movies scenes have slight hidden meanings doesn't ruin it for me.
Oct 15, 2023 Ok that makes me feel better about 6. If 2 and 3 switched in tbe order they came out it would be totally fine. It's just a weird flow for the series imo. The gay thing wasnt even a huge deal for me, more of a minor gripe on my part. I still love the bus and pool scene and rate the movie wayyyy higher than 4-5.
Oct 15, 2023 Yeah saw that was getting meh reviews. Thats the one w the backstory of Judd right? Usually not a fan of 'beginning' stories tbh. Pet Semetary and the remake are both nice and enough for me.
Oct 15, 2023 You didn't like NN at first? Also its funny I never seen Elmst 6 before either! I hate Saw movies. Torture movies do nothing for me tbh. Gonna watch Friday 13th part 6 in the next 2 weeks and Freddy vs Jason as far as F13 movies go. Hmmm well its too late but u should have skipped RZ part 2 lmao. Well its worth to watch all of them (imo) once to follow the story... but if you wanna see the good/decent ones: halloween 2, halloween 4, H20 and Halloween 2018, (Kills, Ends) Of course its fine to watch the rest too and yeah to each his own ofc.
Oct 15, 2023 Yep judds backstory. David Duchovny is in it which is why I watched it tbh since I like him in X Files.
Oct 15, 2023 Hmm might give 6 a chance then. Yeah I was mostly making fun of course, I would give part 2 a 5 or maybe 6 since its not terrible. But it gets blown away by the great ones.
Oct 15, 2023 d---. I never watched X files but can't really watch a David movie/show without seeing Hank Moody lmao
