Aug 25, 2024 I wanna be tense not fall asleep lol I wish they had done The Nun movie well, it could have been an interesting origin story. Religion is boring as h--- (no pun intended) so they can’t use much of it like they did here.
Aug 25, 2024 I honestly liked Longlegs donny and Cage is one of my favourite actors... But imo he didn't suit the role he played lol. Seemed a little off. Marsh reckons that the role shoulda been played by Eminem (not joking)
Aug 25, 2024 Watched @DiggleDogg69 Currently watching another one, will share my thoughts when I finished that
Aug 25, 2024 I do not like either of The Nun movies, so that’s probably why I liked immaculate so much. It was just so much better than either of them
Aug 25, 2024 Also, watched Stream last night. It was cool, definitely a fun premise with some creative moments. You can tell it was the Terrifier people behind it, but the gore was nowhere near those movies. So if you enjoy fun slashers but don’t like the over the top Terrifier gore, I think you’d enjoy Stream! Solid 7/10 from me
Aug 25, 2024 The main reason I dislike the Terrifier movies is because of too much disgusting scenes lol. So if this is a little less but has the same vibe count me in!
Aug 25, 2024 It: Chapter One I said earlier that I watched it once in 2017 and never went back to it afterwards. When I watched it today I understand why I never did before. And no, I don't dislike the movie. But its one of those (long) movies that are great to watch once every 5 years or so. Same with The Shining for me. Don't wanna watch that every year either. The story of It is dope, but I also like that they recreated that 80's vibe perfectly. Aside from Pennywise it also has the bullies, the abusive father, and the coming of age elements. It has so much to offer, all of that around the main story of a creepy creature that stalks and kidnaps children. Imo its not a traditional horror movie, more of a coming of age drama with horror elements on it. Done very well. The children all have their own issues yet they come together and face their bullies, both the fa---- 'gangsters kids' (who also has his own story with an abusive father) and Penny the clown. I have to say the ending was a bit anticlimatic but its obviously a nice set up for the sequel. Never watched that one but just ordered it, will do now! Curious if (basically) the same story will be much different with an adult cast. 8/10 Dark Skies This movie is from 2013. I've seen the title many times before but since it was labeled as a Sci-Fi (and I don't really like those) I never bothered to check. Today after IT, I saw it was on Netflix and thought what the h---. Very happy I made that decision! It's technically a sci-fi, but it plays out like a typical haunted house/possession movie. It starts with small signs, then it gets worse, they do investigation, find out what it is, some weirdo gives them advice and then there's a final showdown with the ghost aliens. Nothing really original about the way it plays out but I have to say, it is really well done. Some really creepy moments and I absolutely LOVE that for once the movie doesn't start with the family moving into a new house. And its not in some random creepy farm in the middle of f---ing nowhere but in the suburbs. Aside from the basic elements the people also react differently than in most movies. It's not that original yet kinda.. I dunno, fresh take on it. Ending is kinda 'open' I hate that, since there's no sequel. But it was a very fun watch! 7/10 @DiggleDogg69 Its gonna be like this starting somewhere halfway september almost daily lmao
Aug 25, 2024 There’s a couple scenes in there that’s kinda Terrifier-esque, but they aren’t as long and drawn out as a Terrifier k--- would be. If Terrifier is a 10 on the gore scale, this is about a 7
Aug 25, 2024 If you think chapter 1 is long wait until you watch Chapter 2 lol and those goofy CGI scenes from 2 killed me, s--- looked like a Scary Movie parody
Aug 25, 2024 I’d say a little more than that but not by much. It honestly just had an unrated movie feel, like if the later F13 movies didn’t get f----- by the MPAA
Aug 25, 2024 Also @Michael Myers i’m glad you like IT chapter 1! I’ve been itching to watch it again for awhile now, probably will tonight. Maybe I remember it much more fondly, I’ll see what’s up sometime this week
Aug 25, 2024 Yeah the thing is I complain sometimes that they rush horror movies too much. Like they are not letting us get to know the characters so we don't give a s--- what happens to them. It sometimes takes more movies to really be invested in them (like the popular franchises) They nailed that here by exploring the characters. Making my watch list right now, gonna be a lot this year
Aug 25, 2024 I’d say it was one of the first movies that truly creeped me out. Maybe I have a deep fear of clowns in my subconscious that I haven’t fully realized yet because I had that same feeling with Art hahah
Aug 26, 2024 I f---ing hate clows lmao Remember watching an episode of supernatural involving clowns in 2007 I was scared as h--- lol
