Sep 12, 2024 It was funny because the last scene of Babysitter 2 has Samara Weaving and Jenna Ortega hugging. Samara has the (great!!) opening k--- of S6 and Jenna the opening -almos- k--- of S5.
Sep 12, 2024 I'm gonna watch all the scream movies in order this time (october). The true classics I'm gonna keep till october, now its more b movies
Sep 12, 2024 I needed some Scream fill until I got to the OG in my Oct. marathon and it would've felt odd to me to watch 2-4 without the OG
Sep 12, 2024 Yeah part 6 was added to Netflix here everytime I scroll past it I wanna click lmao But gonna keep strong! Tomorrow its Jason time And his mom
Sep 12, 2024 Question for all; are the later Friday 13th movies worth watching...? Complete honesty I only seen part 1, part 6, Jason X and Freddy vs Jason. For example Elmstreet is awful after the 4th one but still somewhat enjoyable. Same goes for some of the Halloween movies. But I never bothered to check out this whole franchise lol.
Sep 12, 2024 part 1-6 are what i consider the good ones tbh, it gets silly after that. it sucks that the best jason (kane hodder) has the worst movies (7-X)
Sep 12, 2024 Hmm might check those out then. I saw a scene on youtube where he kills some thugs in Manhattan (thats part 8?) lmao that was funny. Part 6 is great tbh! Didn't even know it has 9 lol..is Jason X part 10? Btw since ur kinda new, we discussed it here before; thoughts on FvsJ?
Sep 12, 2024 Yes! That is part 8. Don't go in expecting a bunch of Manhattan even though it's in the title Part 6 is my second fav! Only behind part 4 Yessir! X is part 10 I like FvJ, it's good for what it is. I don't really give a f--- about the characters outside of Freddy and Jason though, since obviously you're there to see F&J fight.
Sep 12, 2024 Same here, and I have 5 and 6 downloaded. Will get the blurays one day + Halloween recent ones at least, I want to get them without the last one but the pack with them 3 is cheaper...
Sep 13, 2024 True the rest is filler but I do like the story about how the town decided to 'forget' it and the way some characters are tied to that. And the return of hypnocil. The writers did their homework! Absolutely LOVE the movie and its the first elmst/friday movie I've seen lmao
Sep 13, 2024 Friday the 13th (1980) & Friday the 13th (2009) Watched on Friday the 13th 2024 I watched both today so gonna give my thoughts and do a little comparison. The 2009 one is a remake, but it's not a remake of the original movie. There is a nice tribute during the opening credits where they showed the ending of the original movie with Mrs. Voorhees. The difference here is he clearly abducts people and doesn't just k--- them. The kills are cool, the fire one was dope even. Also liked the k--- on the speedboat a lot. Sam Winchester hunting down Jason was awesome. The fact that they were in some penthouse instead of the cabins was kinda lame though. It is a nice hommage to the original movie yet they didn't just replicate the scenes like they did w Halloween (Zombie) and Elmstreet. Its the best remake out of the 3 imo by far. The original, its kinda funny everywhere the franchise is promoted with Jason and he isn't even in there. If you grew up when it was released its different than watching it later. It was a nice twist to see his mother though. Still kinda lame how an old woman killed so many men yet has trouble killing the girl at the end. The old school feel does make it better imo, thats the one thing that I prefer over the remake. Even if the effects are obviously dated lol. Classic movie, but unlike the remakes, this is the weakest out of the 'big 3' The remake; 7 The original; 7.2
Sep 14, 2024 The Babadook (dook..dook) Spoilers if you haven't seen it! It has been a few years since I've watched it. Usually a horror movie like this starts with a (happy) family that moves into a house etc. Cliché. Here we check in at an already broken family. A woman and her 7 year old child, the father died while driving her to the hospital to get the baby. We learn soon that they never celebrated the boys birthday. Classic case of grief and guilt, mors specifically denying those feelings. The woman goes through the motions and the kid is the most annoying piece of s--- ever. Insufferable lol. One day they find a book that talks about a monster called the Babadook. Soon the haunting begins and neither of them sleep for days. Instead of dealing the woman puts the kid on sleeping pills. The woman eventually breaks and gets 'possessed' by the monster, lashing out at the kid. There's one amazing scene where the kid says he's hungry and the mom says she needs to sleep. He keeps whining and she tells him if he's really hungry he should just eat his s---. Lmao. Obviously its the guilt and grief taking her over. At the end she finally casts the monster out, finally accepting the loss. At the end they have the monster locked up in the basement; the ultimate metaphore for giving grief and pain a place, not trying to get rid of it. After all 'you can't get rid of the Babadook'. This movie is called elevated horror by Tara in Scream 5. Its a horror movie, but with a deeper message. Watching this movie I never was actually scared, but you can feel the despair, anger and grief the mom goes through. It's not a fun movie to watch, it makes you feel uncomfortable actually. Very, very well done! 8/10
Sep 14, 2024 Been thinking of giving that one a watch! And I like how you mentioned Tara in Scream 5 talking about it because I think of it every single time I hear Babadook haha
Sep 14, 2024 Definitely do that man! Yeah its so f---ing cringe at the end she shoots the killer and says 'I still prefer the Babadook'. Like that's something you'd say in that situation lmaoo
