Oct 20, 2018 Spoiler anybody else think the fact that the granddaughter used his own knife to stab him which lead to his “death” and then showing her still holding it as the final shot may symbolise something for the possible sequel? Reminded me of the Halloween 4 ending.
Oct 20, 2018 @M Solo @DetroitSkills so were those rumours true about the test screening and them changing the ending because ppl didn’t like it? Hope we get some sort of directors cut with what they originally intended to be the ending.
Oct 20, 2018 Spoiler i also honestly thought that the “guy friend” was supposed to be gay til he started getting it on with that chick
Oct 20, 2018 It is a blumhouse movie But yea definitely a homage/callback And im not entirely sure about the ending change. I thought i read a few people who went to TIFF heard or said it was different or some s---
Oct 20, 2018 Not even going to bother putting this in spoiler tags because it didn't come close to happening but supposedly Laurie and Michael got into a knife fight and as Laurie was about to be killed and the Granddaughter shot Michael with a crossbow. And then the three generations of Strodes proceed to "beat him to death." So yeah I guess it could have actually been worse lmao
Oct 21, 2018 A great film considering the many unlikeable characters Regardless, this is a perfect companion to the original-- I give this an 8/10, the original is a 9/10 for me so
Oct 21, 2018 I'm so on the same page that the Halloween factor is so important. Take it away and u have a random slasher movie. I kinda get what ur saying about 6. Really liked the part where ms blankenship (the old woman) tells about the origin of halloween, the fact that halloween was banned and they bring it back, tommy (paul) wanting revenge.. kids running around in costumes etc etc Also the reason I like H4 more than H20. Story of h20 was good but d--- that intro in haddonfield playin mr sandman >>>> rest of the movie. And some of the characters where annoying as s--- lol.

Oct 21, 2018 Pretty solid. Watched the original before going in, s/o swizz, which amplified what McBride and dgg were going for: a companion film that - finally - let’s the “helpless virgin” become the hero So many mirrored shots...pretty satisfying ending imo. This one made a s--- ton of money as I’m sure u all saw so will be interesting how they invariably do a sequel
Oct 21, 2018 Nice. Here’s the thing that actually bothered me about it: it’s kind of like what Force Awakens is to the Star Wars series. A series correction, seeped in nostalgia. Then it’s got this feminist correction which is fun fan service but still..... outside simply redoing the original style there’s not a lot to talk about. @Twan?
Oct 21, 2018 I heard it had a lot of scenes from the other movies. Thats kinda cool I guess but also I dunno lazy? Hope the feminism s--- isn't gonna bother me since I hate a movie like halloween being ruined by political bs lol
Oct 21, 2018 Wait @Michael Myers hasn seen the movie yet he's in this thread full of spoilers and opinions?
Oct 21, 2018 Yes I really don't care about spoilers since I already guessed it was gonna be charlies angels killing michael in the end lmao. I care about the vibe, atmosphere etc and nobody can spoil that for me. Its subjective. Also I'm kinda glad I read posts from m solo detroitskills etc so I can lower my expectations a little
Oct 21, 2018 Spoiler Either suspense is just lost on modern filmmaking or they just didn't try to make this movie suspenseful....sadly The build up and subtely just wasn't there at all. That's my biggest issue with the movie. I could look over other flaws
