Is a great tablet. I bought the $800 model with the keyboard and i love it. Definitely the best tablet for college students like me. Office 2013 and the keyboard make it a great tool for productively.

A lot of people hate windows 8/8.1 but for a tablet windows 8.1 is great. It still has the desktop screen obviously which i'll use that screen when i use it as a laptop, but for a tablet the start screen is very nice.

Anyone else have and like the Surface tablet? Or is everyone here an iSheep with iPads lol

anyway if you need windows and ultra portability the surface is a cool device enjoy it

I was just kidding when i said iSheep i just think it's a funny word lol apple products are fine i just prefer MS over Apple (except in the phone department of course)

Was thinking about buying this, you can basically use it as a laptop right? Any restrictions on what you can and can't do

Yes you can use it like a laptop. The tablet has a kickstand which is nice and then you can buy a keyboard which makes it like a laptop. If you get the "Pro" version of the surface it's basically, it can do virtually everything a laptop can do without the disc tray.

The pro version can download any type of software too, not just Microsoft software. It's a great tablet
