Apr 1, 2018 I've been a die hard Linkin Park fan for the past 14 years. Chester's death f---ing destroyed me, I literally spent a week unable to eat or sleep, because I realized that the band that I've been listening to and idolizing for so long was no more, because of something really tragic - suicide. It's one thing when someone is killed or overdoses. This was legit a guy whom I've been looking up to in an artistic sense of speaking taking his own life. That being said, this album is a huge relief knowing that Mike is gonna carry on making music. All the LP fans are welcoming this album with open arms and are a glad this is happening. No one is thinking what you're thinking. It's therapeutic for both Shinoda and the fans.
Apr 1, 2018 Yeah man way more edgy and emo than the rest of their music (I'm being sarcastic it's not)
Apr 1, 2018 If you can't listen to crawling "unironically" then you can't listen to the rest of their music either lmao Sorry 4chan made that one song a meme, HT is their best record
Apr 1, 2018 Hey, to each his own. It's not that I hate songs like Crawling, Numb, In the End and What I've done. It's just that they were so d--- popular, I kinda grew tired of them. Honestly, almost half of my favorite LP songs are demos and unreleased songs like Blackbirds,Across the Line, It Goes Through.
Apr 1, 2018 You just said how grieving you are, and you don't even know the dude. Mike is up and about making a record for release right after his death? Chester has kids. Let the man's family grieve without a constant reminder. I get he's upset, he should talk to a therapist. Not tell the world his feelings to promote an album. Feels cheap.
Apr 1, 2018 I get what you're saying, especially seeing as how Mike talked about how he had gone to his label (Warner) to attend meeting multiple times. There's nothing wrong with releasing music or creating music on your own. It's not like the whole album is gonna be about Chester passing away. But I do feel like he was pushed to do it sooner than he had wanted to. 16 tracks in 8 months? While One More Light took 18 months? But still that doesn't mean Mike has no right to release the music that he's been making to help him get over this tragedy. I for one am glad he's doing it. I don't think of it as a marketing ploy.
Apr 1, 2018 We have grown adults in this thread talking about how they cried, didn't eat, didn't sleep, and were depressed for weeks. All this depression over the most generic music of our generation. Actual clearance rack music. Sure it's sad Chestnuts died I get it. But people die all the time and you should never lose sleep over a celebrity who you didn't know and gave two s----s about you unless it's Eminem or Tech N9ne of course.
Apr 1, 2018 Also Shinoda is doing a cheap money grab. What a joke. Taking advantage of chestnuts kmart legacy.
Apr 1, 2018 The music is justifiable and underrated imo but the whole can't eat for a week because Chester died is odd to me like it was a bit of a gut punch to the childhood but s--- life goes on
Apr 1, 2018 I'm just stating it's pathetic being a grown man and crying/being depressed/starving/cutting yourself over the death of the lead band member in one of the worlds worst bands. There is absolutely nothing edgy about that. It's actually the biggest "cringe" or stupid a--- "yikes" imaginable.
