    Historically police departments have discriminated against applicants with high IQs.

    Some police departments would include IQ tests in their entrance exams and if an applicant scored above average intelligence they would be automatically disqualified.

    When people get murdered for fleeing from the cops, it's "they shouldn't have ran away" or "they should have just listened to the cops." When people get murdered for complying and standing still for the cops, it's "they shouldn't have broken the law" or "they shouldn't have been loitering" or whatever.

    If you think you're gonna get shot no matter what, can you really blame anyone for taking their chances by running away?

    d---. Yeah I think I recall that settlement. There's nothing to really argue here, but the fact these are the type of scenarios that back the system failing us. The attempt of compensation is there, but definitely no justice for Gray. Zuniga's situation is gonna take even longer because of COVID and court systems being so slow. And yet, the families will be expected to be calm, cordial and civil while they HOPE some type of justice is served.

    I'm literally agreeing with you bro. I'm just saying what we can do until the problem is fixed. We all screaming police reform and f--- the police, but it's gonna take more than just bitching to make it right. And since i'm black and in the military, I can't wait on police reform. I need to know what I can do now to help improve the chances of any situation I am in with a cop be as peaceful as possible so i'm not on the news like Lt. Nazario.

    Doesn’t matter what he did, resisting arrest shouldn’t be a death sentence. They’re literally killing people over air fresheners and loosies. Cops aren’t supposed to k--- guilty people either.

    Of course it could have been worse, but that’s a f----- up way of looking at it. We shouldn’t have to be afraid of “agitating cops” when he just had his hands up the whole time. The reason he wasn’t complying was because he stated many times he was scared for his life to reach down for his seatbelt because he didn’t want to give them any reason to be able to say he was reaching for a weapon.

    if it was actually temporary plates they were worried about they would have seen them within 10 seconds of getting out of their car and sent him on his way. Why did he need to “comply” with them when he literally did nothing wrong?

    People on this forum want freedom to not get a vaccine but see nothing wrong with violations of personal freedom, rights, and liberty when it comes to our authoritarian militarized police force that gets to do virtually whatever they want with few consequences.

    Not a death, but did you see the video the other day where they pulled over an active duty army lieutenant in fatigues...look how they were treating that guy and how scared he was. At the beginning of the video he says “honestly I’m scared” and the cop says “yeah, you should be.”

    You know somethings f----- when members of our own military are afraid of being murdered by cops.

    cops can and will use force on people who react in virtually any way to their demands—this is baked into how they interact with people, they give contradictory orders even when working alone. they s---t or maim people who are doing exactly what you’re supposed to do. so, knowing that, how can a person be blamed for fleeing out of fear? especially when cops have their actions excused for “idk, i was scared, i didn’t know what to do!” all the time.
