Ya it was a great win. Jiminez was letting up loud outs and his control was s---. He was about to get shelled.

Because it was all predicated on a very questionable, nonplay related call by the umps. The fact is Jimenez had gone like four innings hitless ball (and has only given up one hit the entire season), and the sox immediately tied it up 2-2 once he was ejected. games whole dynamic was changed by umpire interference

I mean he shouldnt have gotten the hook but that was an intentional plunk from Panda's hard slide at 2nd and it was up high. If you are gonna hit someone intentionally it cant be up that high.

You cant say you should have won a game that you scored 2 runs in, cant do it. Especially against the Sox offense.

That slide wasn't that hard though -- panda is a meatball, any slide from him is going to be like that. No reason for the plunk and as you said earlier, Jimenez had some control issues throughout the game. very reasonable to think the ball simply got away from him. its not like it was a headshot either.....

What? The sox only scored three runs, and two of them were the direct result of our starter being ousted from the game. if the orioles lost 8-2 clearly i wouldnt say anything... very flawed logic

No, todays game (and yesterdays) were great wins. Because they were earned.

im not crying, im simply staying its not a game the red sox should've won. because it had less to do with on field performance, and more an arbirary and controversial call from the ump. not that crazy a notion, lol.

ahhh yes, the inning after jiminez got tossed. regardless, it was the fifth and he obviously would've still be pitching and given his track record this year, likely would've been in control. its a hypothetical, but reasonable to assume. now now dont be one of those sissy sox fans, jerking off to sweet caroline n s--- hahah

As opposed to saying a HR was the direct result of the ejection and then acting like it was a fact that the Sox would put up only a single run for the rest of the game. A++ argument on your behalf.

Fact is we dont know how the game would have turned out, could have just as easily ended up the same way. Or Not. You also cant say for a fact that him hitting Panda wasnt intentional. What cant be argued is the fact that if it was intentional then that was FAR to high, very close to the head if Panda didnt move the way he did.



But dont act like you wouldnt be happy if the roles were reversed and you won with a walk off. And if you would really have taken that moral high ground and been less then thrilled with the win. Then you're a weirdo lol...

Take the win however you can get it. Little tip for you, there are 162 games in a baseball season don't harp on one loss.

edit: so putting words in someones mouth is apparently your thing. I mean if you wanna read my posts i said he shouldn't have been tossed. Did he hit him intentionally? imo he did, but should have just been warned. Still needed to keep the ball down and not doing that is why he got tossed.

One thing i wouldn't have done is assume my starter would have shut down the whole game when he could barely find the plate and was giving up hard outs. Mark me down for that one.

Mets swept the Fish but lost Blevins and D'Arnaud. Plus Wright is out too. Hope they tough it out.

Can survive without Blevins if the pen steps it up, and if Plawecki is how he is hyped up to be, then it should be a non factor. Just need to play consistent ball till the roster is back to full strength.

Watching the Cubbies vs. Buccos game. Lots of empty seats in Pittsburgh. What gives?
