Ya especially since it was in division. That was the one deal Cherington got right last year. Lackey(pitching for league min in '15) for Craig(bad contract going forward) and Kelly has been brutal. Lester for Cespedes(then traded for Porcello-who they gave a 4 year 80+ million deal too before throwing 1 inning for the Sox) ended up bad, they probably would have had Lester for that 7yr/135 or whatever they offered him this offseason, but trading him factored into him picking the Cubs.

Anyways loved the pace E-Rod has, think that has come with the minors experimenting with the pitch clock this year, because I don't remember him being that quick to the plate last year.

I love when people start comparing closers to Mariano like they did Papelbon and now Kimbrel and they can't even live up to the hype half the time he did.

Paul Goldschmidt is the most slept on player in the MLB. He may be the best player in the league right now.

7 IP 2 hits 1 ER and 7 K's for Rodriguez today. Ya he's not going anywhere. Sucks that he's gonna probably be on an innings limit though.

he wouldn't be enough to get you into the playoffs anyway, the rest of your rotation is terrible. Giving Porcello that extension for 20+ mill a year and signing Sandoval was a huge mistake.

Nah Buchholz has been really good actually and now Steven Wright has been decent. We already dropped the dead weight in Masterson, Joe Kelly is probably next. And the main problem with the Sox is the offense which was supposed to be great. The rotation has been what it was expected to be. And we still have Brian Johnson in Pawtucket if we need another arm.

Just our offense doing what it's supposed to do is enough to get into the playoffs, AL East is trash this year.

Well you're right about Clay, just saw a statistic Buchholz's streak of four straight starts of at least 7 1/3 IP, no more than two runs, the longest by a Red Sox starter since Clemens in '92. If he can keep it up and the offense starts to click they could be a contender.

Sox really just have to be within a couple games at the deadline. They have more prospects then they know what to do with. They can rent out an ace like Cueto or go after a guy like Kazmir to help the rotation.

Sandoval might be the worst player in baseball, like im not kidding even a little bit. His defense this past week has been awful.

Oakland called up their ambidextrous pitcher Pat Venditte. Going to the game Sunday would be cool to see him pitch.

had his first game today...saw the highlight of his first switch pitch, was pretty cool

Jesus christ Girardi, if you're up 8-1 in the 9th and your closer lets up 7 runs you put someone else in

Went to the game yesterday. Sox were down 4-0 and then scored 7 in the 8th inning and got the sweep they desperately needed.
