    No question he's playing for a contract but I'm not going to be that negative rn when he's producing for us. I don't think he should get 7 years but he's playing very well at the moment and giving the Mets reason to sign him. I could only imagine where the Mets would be if that Carlos Gomez trade happened. And Cespedes is a huge catalyst for this turn around but the Mets got better offensively with Uribe, Johnson, Wright's back, Duda's back, Granderson is playing better this year. Flores has some clutch hits. Bringing up Conforto. Mets made some good moves at the deadline for once.

    Did you want Gomez at that point? I really don't like him. Not just his temper but he swings for the moon at every bat and he can't do that forever

    It wasn't really worth it, not just in hindsight obviously, but he didn't seem like he would do much for the team.

    The best 3 records in all of baseball are currently in the NL Central. It is insane that 1 of these teams will be eliminated in a 1 game playoff.

    Speaking of the Mets, they are literally collapsing into 1st place. Good thing the Nats are slumping as well.
