I agree with you about being proven in the AL East
    Yup:
After leaving the position as the Padres' President, Lucchino became president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Red Sox on November 15, 2003 and hired Epstein to work under him. At the end of the 2002 season, Lucchino appointed Epstein to replace interim general manager (GM) Mike Port. He is credited with making several key acquisitions, including David Ortiz, Kevin Millar, and Curt Schilling, during his first tenure as Red Sox GM. These players were regarded as instrumental in breaking the so-called "Curse of the Bambino" when the Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2004 World Series.
Epstein remained in contact with the team's front office and on January 12, 2006, and he and Red Sox management announced his return. Six days later, the team announced that he would resume the title of General Manager and add the title of Executive Vice President.

It's weird because Cueto turned down 6/120 from the D-Backs last week. Didn't think they had that kind of dough to spend.

Cueto will almost certainly be a Dodger now.

Sox trade Wade Miley and Jonathan Aro for Carson Smith and Roenis Elias.

Great trade for the Sox, they have a ton of SP depth which made Miley expendable. Not only did they get another potential starter back but they got a potential set up man in Carson Smith.

Sox bullpen is now one of the best in the AL.

Ehh I don't know that I'd like the moves they've made that much. They needed a few more vets and Lackey(outside of the beer & chicken days) and Zobrist are solid locker room guys but they are older.

I think the Cubs got pretty lucky with their health last year, I also don't think Arietta has the year he had last year & Lester will continue to slowly decline(plus his playoff numbers since leaving the Sox are worrisome).

Going into this offseason Cubs fans were so convinced that they were getting David Price(because of the Maddon connection), forgetting they were a mid-market team.

Cardinals haven't made any moves but I'm expecting them too and while the Cubs beat them last year the Cards were banged up(and still won the division).

Cubs and Cards are fighting hard over Heyward right now. Rumors floating that the Cubs traded Castro to free up room for Zobrist and Heyward. If we lose out on Heyward, we probably get Chris Davis and Upton, which wouldn't be bad, but I would hate to see him a Scrub.

I think Lackey got too much money anyway (he's not as good as many Cards fans think, awful on the road) and yeah, Zobrist getting a 4 year deal at age 35 doesn't exactly scream built for the World Series lol. I hope you're right man, I f---ing hate the Cubs.
