Yankees saving their money this year...probably gonna open up a savings account and collect some interest and maybe pick up some players next year

^Well their payroll was at nearly 200 million w/o the Miller/Headley additions, if they spent this year they wouldnt have been able too next year. Does anyone even come off the books for them next off-season? They'll probably be at like 250 mill next year, for their payroll.

Got GayRod for 2 more years and when he's gone it will free up a lot. Hopefully they learned their lesson. The Dodgers over took them payroll wise last year. Both Tex and CC are up after next year which will free a s--- load as well

I've missed baseball season, here's to hoping the Pirates just avoid the Wild Card game all together this year and win the division.

Yankees wayyy overpaid for Headley. Trust me, as a Padre fan I know.

He had one good 3 month period in his career and thats all.

Getting excited for this season of baseball. I'm probably going to the Pirates home opener. Hopefully, they make a good playoff run this year.

Anyone think A-rod can have a rebound year? @Worm ? I actually would like to see him do well this year. He seems pretty committed showing up for spring training early.

I'd be pretty committed to showing up for spring training for $25 million dollars also. It would be nice to see him do good so the team does good and have a tiny bit of redemption but it really doesn't matter at this point. He's gonna be 40 and his career is a joke at this point. It kind of sucks for him that no one else who did roids got the backlash like he did, but with the money he was paid that's what you get

Yeah he is getting paid a ridiculous amount of money for his age. I found it pretty funny how far he was willing to save his name last year even trying to sue the player union. I'm surprised his teammates don't open up to media and hate on him.

A-rod definitely seems to have gotten the most heat from using steroids. Plus all the players who haven't got caught which makes it look worse for a-rod. I was ok with players using steroids after injuries until the 2004 Boston Red Sox took it too far.

What? Think I didn't do my research back in 2004 on the Red Sox? Something was obviously effecting their game. I didn't like Boston sports 11 years ago either.

I mean, I guess it does seem pretty sad and pathetic to boston fans. I just deeply dislike all their sports. Had a friend who was a Red Sox fan in 04 always dissing the Pirates so that's when that hatred started.

Nah. You took it too far a few years ago during the NHL playoffs.
