    They were willing to pay a significant amount for Price, Sox just outbid them by like 20 mill. Hes made good moves, but kinda got lucky there. Like the Pats when they offered Revis big money and the Jets blew them out of the water.

    If it wasn't for some awful, abysmal moves the Sox would be the Cubs right now. They'd still have Lester, Miller and the best young core in baseball, with the best farm system in baseball. I forget whose top 100 list it was but 7 of the top 25 or something came from the Sox system. Benintendi, Moncada, Kopech, Devers, Espinoza, Margot and Groome.

    Dombrowski has traded away i think 8 of the top 10 prospects for pitching. They are in a good place, but they could have been stocked for like a decade instead of having like a 3 year window. Major f--- ups have been made since Theo left.

    Sorry most of my post has nothing to do with yours, just needed to let that out.

    Yeah tbh I really f---ing wanted Price at the time (who didn't) but hindsights 20/20 I'm obviously glad we didn't. We have locked up some really important pieces and still have room to lock up Diaz, Grichuk, Oh, Siegrist (most underrated player on the team) and maybe even Lynn if we decide we want to. The rotation could've used a guy like price considering Waino's regression, but Carlos Martinez looks like he will be very special. Banking on Waino and Wacha having bounce back years tho.

    In regards to your Sox, I agree that they'd be the Cubs if it weren't for some fuckups, but outside of their bullpen, I think they'll be fine too. That young core is special, but their window isn't as long as it should be.

    Feel bad for Tehran dude pitches a great 6 innings and the bullpen just gets dusted in the 7th. Team didn't look too hot at the plate either. Hope the Mariners can win and salvage opening day for me.

    Young guys looked good today, obviously it's the first game of the season but I really think we can only go up from here. I like us having Matt Stairs as the hitting coach.
