Cerrone is ridiculous, 2 weeks between pre-main eventing 2 cards. Thats why I'm a Cowboy fan. He ain't gonna turn away and wants to fight as much as possible.

This is now a Cowboy Appreciation Thread.

I watch next to no mma outside of the UFC. Been meaning to but obviously their schedule went ham and it's hard enough to keep up with the one organisation. Any non-UFC prospects at LHW that stick out?

Also I really like where they're going with Fight Pass. If they do manage to venture out into kickboxing and bjj etc, s--- would be f---ing amazing. Metamoris and K-1 plz

Sure, but look how shallow HW is in the first place. He's one of few with any sort of cardio period. Or a skill set. He can't stay healthy so it's not like it matters, but I wouldn't hazard a guess as to how it would go. Bones is still in the upswing of his career and superfights, even at catchweight, don't really make sense to me.

People said Cormier would ragdoll him and look how that worked out.

There honestly isnt much at LHW outside the UFC. Liam McGeary is exciting but Jon Jones would k--- him, plus hes in his early thirties. He fights Emanuel Newton on that Bellator UK vs USA show that happens the night before UFC 184, card is headlined by Douglas Lima vs Paul Daley.

Lets not act like LHW isnt just as shallow of a division.

Jones/DC/Gus/Rumble/Rashad vs Cain/JDS/Werdum/Browne/Miocic. Top 5 are very comparable, but both divisions fall off significantly after that.

Cant really compare DC with Cain either, DC could probably make WW if he really wanted to. The size difference between him and Jones was alarming, Cain would be the bigger fighter.

I mean i think the JDS would be a nightmare match up for Jones as well and Cain f----- him up bad. The size advantage Jon has is a huge part of his game that he wouldnt have against guys like Cain and JDS.

You really think HW and LHW are that comparable? Cain has only beaten one of the people you even named. I really think it's stupid to suggest Jones loses unquestionably to anybody in MMA. I'll believe it when I see it.

Yes i absolutely think HW and LHW are comparable, lol you dont? Two of the weaker divisions in MMA. Doesnt matter if Cain has fought those guys, hes been hurt and none of them has a remote shot against him if we're gonna be honest.

I dont think its stupid to have an opinion at all really, im not speaking in facts. I said i think Cain would rag doll Jones, thats an opinion. A healthy Cain i dont think can be beat by anyone and im not alone in sharing that thought. Guy is the terminator and i think Jones would fold under the pressure he would put on.

Seems like a lot of ppl forgot what Cain does to ppl, i know hes been out a while but i mean...

Id also say that HW has more up and coming HW's that are off of that top 15, LHW legitimately has nobody.

In my mind, LHW feels more lively than it is because I still picture people who've dropped down/left as if they're still current/relevant lol. HW doesnt have the same perk going for it. LHW/HW are always going to be shallow as f--- just cos of where they sit on a bell curve. On the flipside I feel like FLW and BW will get deeper as they make their way into Asia but I dunno how much of that is me hoping/presuming.

So if he got busted for weed would he be in trouble? Its funny that coke isn't on the banned list. When I first saw he tested positive for coke I thought it would affect the decision, but it was before the fight "out of competition" so everything is fine... besides his reputation... which was already pretty bad. I think this will blow over (pun intended), just like the DUI.

Michael page is also fighting on that card. He's a crazy unorthodox fighter that throws all kinds of s--- (im sure you know of him). Has a similar style to anderson silva/bobby green with the whole hands down thing. Not sure how he's gonna do when he fights a wrestler though. Was just talking to a friend of his today about him actually. Looking forward to that card in general being im from the UK.



On Cain vs Jones... i mean i have pretty much no idea how that fight would go but it's hard not to favour jones at this point imo. cormier is a better wrestler than cain and gives cain wars in the gym. The big difference with cain and cormier is the pace cain sets though obviously.... which gives him a better chance. But if cain struggles to take him down.... then what? Jones is strong as s--- man and even cormier could barely take him down... the guy who took henderson and barnett down with ease
