Also Cro Cop and Wanderlei are gonna fight in Rizin's 16-man open weight tournament. Tournament will take place on 3 dates, Sept. 25th, Dec. 29th & Dec. 31st.

Yea i don't feel bad for Hunt so much as he just got the biggest payday of his career and everyone in the division would sign up for that beating in a heartbeat to be compensated that way.

I feel bad for a guy like Bubba Bush who gets devastated by a roider (Kevin Casey) and hes making 8/8. Those guys should get a percentage of the other guys purse at the very least.



Anyways Spike TV is putting on a MMA/Boxing double header on August 26/27th. The first night will be headlined by Benson Henderson vs Patricio Pitbull and the Boxing show is headlined by Robert Guerrero vs David Peralta. Kind of a weird Bellator fight since Bendo is a big LW and Pitbull is a small FW, but thats Bellator i guess.

Assume that means Chandler vs Thomson is next.

Bellator on "tonight" at 9 ET on Spike. Its airing on tape delay, which in 2016 is a joke. Spike used to do that with UFC shows back when they first broke into the UK, was easier to avoid spoilers back then because twitter wasn't around but still annoying.

Interesting perspective after news came out cyborg fractured his skill but not written by me

On a related note I was just thinking how much of a f----- up feeling it would be to be seriously injured in an mma fight like this.

Imagine just laying there in agonizing pain, desperately hoping you aren't going to be permanently messed up, knowing you will probably need surgery and will at the very least have a long recovery ahead of you and probably a lot of medical bills. That is assuming you make a full recovery.

Meanwhile the crowd is going crazy and everyone is just cheering about the situation. And then some guy rolls a pokeball at you as a joke.

It would just be such a weird feeling to be seriously injured and have a stadium full of people cheering and happy about it. I know its fighting and the crowd obviously is not just gonna sit there silently but it would just be a weird feeling to be in that position."

Not sure how I feel about the poke ball thing... to be fair MVP didn't know the extent of the injury but still... He seems like a good guy in interviews when he explains his intentions so I'll reserve judgement. but eh.. lol.

Wonder how long Bellator is gonna go with this slow build of MVP, dude is 29 now. Im sure his next fight will be against Fernando Gonzalez (his original opponent for this card) and then probably another striker they bring in, maybe a recent UFC cut. Think they will avoid giving him anyone with legit wrestling.

It would be, but Bellator seems more interested in padding MVP's highlight reel. Koreshkov would be a bad match up for him, his wrestling has come a long way since the Askren fight as he showed against Douglas Lima. I assume they will go with the Lima rematch next after he beat Daley.

Yea that was basically all he did in the Lima fight, to almost everybody's surprise. Other then that fight he hasn't looked for TD's at all really, but i think he probably would against MVP. Not that he couldn't strike with him, because i would give him the edge there as well.

Yea i would give Koreshkov the edge striking. And yes I think MVP's striking and overall game is vastly over hyped and really just untested more then anything. NM the best WW in the world in Wonderboy, when is he gonna fight a top 100 WW? Evangelista Santos is more known for being Cris Cyborg's ex husband then as an MMA fighter. Hes now lost 9 of 15 and was absolutely beaten down by Saad Awad (a mediocre LW) in his last fight. Hes been KO'd/TKO'd 11 times now and was an easy fight for MVP, yet the 1st round was probably a toss up.

Put a guy like Albert Tumenov in there with the guys hes facing and none of them see the 2nd minute of the fight. MVP is 29 years old and has been spoon fed for 3 years and i don't see that changing. I would love to know the details of his contract but im guessing hes the type that Bellator would value a lot more then the UFC.
