Can't blame them for trying, GSP & Diaz are much more winnable fights and probably 4-5X the payday of a Wonderboy (who casuals still don't really know) and Woodley is 34 years old. Him and Alvarez are both in similar spots, where they are getting up there in age (Eddie is an old 32 for the sport, lot of wars) and that next contender is likely to knock them off, while not being a big draw. Alvarez might not see a PPV dollar if they make the Khabib fight on that December Fox Card , and having to run through that LW division again to get back to the top would be tough (same as Woodley climbing back the WW ranks). So i get Eddie he wants the Conor/Nate winner as well.

Guess we'll see how it goes, Dana has changed his mind many times before. If Conor wins, I could see him being like "well I already beat Aldo in 13 seconds". Couldn't have pulled that off if Frankie had won that fight. Obviously if Nate wins that's his only play.

Anyways i'm counting 9 consecutive weeks of UFC starting with 202.

I get the money aspect and such for Woodley wanting GSP or Diaz but....is the UFC going to be like Rocky here and let the champs pick their opponents? It should be the next in line gets the shot imo. Not let them choose who it is. Argument can be made for Bisping picking Dan Hendo. I'm a Hendo fan as much as the next guy but really is he the number 1 contender for MW? No, Nick Diaz hasn't won since 2011, is he the #1 contender for WW? No, I know you need to sell tickets and such. But I'd be fickle as h--- if I was in the UFC. Assuncao in BW deserved a title shot as many thought but he doesn't get one now b/c he lost to Dillashaw. Souza in MW would destroy Bisping imo but he's not getting a shot, Hendo is.

Again I get the money making aspect behind it but at the same time some guys deserve shots and they aren't getting them.

I'm half expecting Garbrandt to get a title shot if he KO's Mizugaki Saturday, feel like we would have heard about it by now if they were going with the Dillashaw rematch. Doesn't hurt that Cruz wants him next.

Thought they would have went with that fight as the Manila headliner since Dodson's mom is Filipino. But I guess they are gonna have BJ Penn vs Ricardo Lamas headline that one. Was hoping BJ would get an easy one.

Apparently Derrick Lewis is fighting Marcin Tybura in Manila. Thought he would get a bigger fight, but a lot of the ranked HW's are either booked or hurt. Wonder who Ngannou will get, probably some mid tier Euro HW coming off a win on the 204 card.
